Let's give this a try. Tweet the below or something like it at whoever you'd think was a good idea! Check out the Ultimate Grand Strategy Game! http://www.uberent.com/pa/ #planetaryannihilation
Im sure the uber guys wouldnt mind promotion mate, if you couldnt answer that question then you must be trolling because anyone can see what the OP is trying to get at. I say no harm and the more people that preorder the better it is for the guys AND us. alot of people out there still dont know about PA
Spam is bad mkay. Also PA is not a grand strategy game. It is a strategy game that is no doubt "grand", but grand strategy is a separate type of game.
This would be a great idea for the day after a beta release date is set. Its just too early yet. Hype too soon and we will peak well before launch. There is a noticeable spike in activity here after each livestream for example (A few hundred posts a day), then it slackens way off to a double handful of posts a day total (like the last few days). When there is concrete gameplay that the general public can see videos of and get excited about (maybe very late alpha) then absolutely lets try to spread the word hard, but without anything like that available yet... The people excited about a new Mavor RTS and this new way of game development uber is succeeding at (no publisher, 99% transparent development) are already here and involved heavily. Anyone not here by now wouldn't really be likely to get involved until something more concrete exists.
shandler is right. What does a interested user have to see at a glance? The original pitch video. Sure there are things like planet biomes and unit size comparisons. These are great if yo uare sold on the concept, but what if you are not yet? Then the pitch video is all there is at the moment. Beta would be far more optimal.
Ready or not, there is this little thing called the UBERSTORE where people can preorder the game. When people preorder the game, that means more money for Uber up front. More money for Uber up front means greater resources for development. Greater resources for development means more fun for everyone at the end of the day, and improves the chances of PA succeeding and becoming a great game that is supported for many many years to come. So yeah, Twitter blasting is not even a good idea, its AWESOME.
Do twitter and co work? From the outside it looks like crap you'd normally tune out, like adverts on web pages. Word of mouth can help, but it's got to be from someone the audience will listen to (think gaming forums, blogs or...real life). Spam does nothing.
/has never used twitter /still heard of PA and backed the kickstarter in the first couple of days /is not still interested in using twitter
