[Bug] The Gunner headshield is not blocking any headshots!

I'm playing a Gunner with gold armor. When I'm deployed the first shot of a Sniper will take down my health to red and until I have un-deployed he has plenty of time to line up a 2nd shot. I'm not saying you should be immune to head shots but the description suggests that the shield protects you in some form. It doesn't.

PS: This happened twice and I was using gold armor both times. With silver, bronce or no armor I would have died instantly. I think it might be a bug.

PPS: I got 2 clean headshots on a fully deployed Gunner today.

I think it more means against criticals in general from say an assault. But yeah, I never bother deploying anyways because it just leaves me too vulnerable.

the head shield is to prevent headshots not crits, lvl 3 is also meant to have damage reduction but i never deploy as a gunner so i don't know how useful it is.....

I only use it to increase my damage output against Jackbots when I know there is no enemy around. Basically maybe once or twice per match.

I'd rather see it removed and replaced by a new ability that can be used while on the move. This game is so fast paced, if you stay still, you're asking to die.

tell that to hudson as he deploys in front of your lazer turret and then juice chains with it

Erm, that only works for the Tank, not the Gunner, right?

Only the tank deploy grants juice while taking damage. (On the console version at least)

I've actually never tested the effectiveness of head shield. I need to do this when I get home, because I deploy ALL THE TIME as a gunner.

The first two to three clips are me deploying mid map and killing full health juiced players while I do not have juice.

He he, just pulling your leg. I'll try to put deploy to better use. Still, I think the headshield should work as advertised. Headshots are very common on the PC version and a working shield would really help.

I'm suspecting the headshield isn't working sometimes. I know for a fact that at least once I've been deployed with lvl3 deploy, and have been oneshot from full health along with the reticle-over-a-head icon in the kill message.

Sounds about right, I was using gold armor on the build I tested it with and it left me only with a sliver of health. Any less than the gold armor and I'd been dead with the first shot.

The head shield is useless because a Sniper can bodyshot you in the time it takes to get out of deploy. The damage bonus and increased crit rate absolutely destroys Juiced enemies.

The effectiveness of the head-shield is not sufficient to make it an even medium-priority purchase.

Just for the record: I played Sniper today and got two clean headshots on a fully deployed Gunner. The headshield isn't working at all!

what does that have anything to do with what i said?

and i haven't been on for a while but if its not working im gonna be sad, i was going to start deploying more often since they fixed the damage bug.
