Maybe that can be an optional.... Option? If you do scale down the tech/fighting, then subtle differences between units become amplified. If you have a frigate, Cruiser, and Battleship, and scale the fight down to the smaller two, the Cruiser becomes more valuable and is treated as a midi-battleship. Ya' get what I mean?
TotalA had complete control over unit restrictions. Any unit could be given an arbitrary limit. Sometimes I did no air games, or cut out certain modded units. Your experience may vary. If players are cutting units out of the game, then look out. Something may be wrong with those units.
