What's Your Alpha Date Prediction?

29th of march, cause I'll have to spend all of my eastern studying for an exam on the 2nd of april... Would be just my luck, missing the start of the alpha due to some exam...

Well hang on, we were told that the alpha would be coming sooner than expected, soon after the first playable had been created. That was said at least a week or two ago (I don't remember the exact date).

I'd be expecting the alpha before the end of March and would be surprised if was any later than mid-April. Take into account the estimated date of release is summer AND the beta has to be fit in before that.

To be honest those dates do sound extremely early above. It just depends on how much they would like to be playable in the "alpha" state I guess.

My bet would be mid April.

I'm torn both ways though - I'd love them to just spend all their time to polish and not worry about us nitpicking it or bringing them down.

Well the sooner we get the Alpha the better feedback we will be able to give. But then again if the Alpha is barely playable then the feedback could be incorrect.

So I believe they should take their time with creating a playable game and then we can help polish it out.

In was said in the last LiveStream they are starting to put things together and that first ingame screenshot should come soon.
=> 1 month min.
(2-3 weeks to have something that does not crash too often + a few weeks for art & units).

Add then a good month for some basic bugfix, takes us around begining of May.
Plus 2-3 weeks because things never go as planned.

We are now near end May.
Basic Marketing says that it's often better to release stuff at the start of the month.

So my guess goes to start of June, around W23.
(and this would allow the game to be visible for E3, which is good).

I expect it to be farther down the road, and nobody guessed inside a gap between May 10th and June 1st. So, i'll take that guess.

It'll come out the same day that awesome upcoming game "Planetary Annihilation" comes out. Like, the same hour. In fact, I heard they're gonna do it the same minute. Some lunatic told me the same second.

Well, you know, they say their primary focus right now is getting it to a playable state, so I would imagine alpha's out sooner rather than later. Early April doesn't sound all that far-fetched.
