Does anyone know if there are going to be massive experimental units like in supreme commander 2??? If not there should be!!!
I'm pretty sure that they've said that there aren't going to be tons of experimental units. To be honest, I don't like the idea of dozens of different Uber units, although that's just personal preference. I kind of hope that if there is an "experimental", that it'll be kind of like the Krogoth, one unit that was very powerful, and hard to get. Although perhaps it should be more useful than the Krogoth was, as the Krogoth was almost never a viable option, and was probably used in about 0.1% of multiplayer matches. That being said, they are going to have the Kbot canon, and the Big Berthas, and orbital weapons, and the battleship model in the last live stream where HUGE. So, we are going to have BIG units to play with, its just that they aren't going to be "Experimental." As far as I can tell. I think that Mavor said something along the lines of the giant units like the ones we saw in Supcom being hard to get right/balanced.
You should use the search before creating an unneeded post. That being said, please do refer to the search and you'll find plenty of information. There will be big units but they will not be super units.

I know that I always loved the big experimental units, especially the Cybran Monkeylord. Anything that has a continuous fire beam weapon is aces in my book! I don't believe we're getting factions in this, as there were in the SupCom games, so any tech and units will most likely be shared, which will cut down on the number of unit types. Still, there could always be new units made as content to be released later on, after the game's been made.
I believe the entire term 'experimental' is getting dumped. There will be lots of awesome units and a big range of in the scale between units, but no specialty top tier units that make the rest of the units obsolete. And it's almost certain you won't see any of the top end specialty units until after the core gameplay & units have been hashed out and balanced. So if anything, it would be post-release.
Honestly I'm totally fine with that. I think it's a great idea. I'd much rather have a game that runs smooth and as close to bug-free as possible before I have more content.
Please do a forum search before posting stuff like this, please. You'll find plenty of developer statements on this subject.
I'm sorry I didn't run a search before hand I didn't notice that you could at the time but if its already been bought up once you don't need to bring it up again
That's not always true, sometimes someone will present an idea that's actually quite good but it gets posted at the wrong time and gets covered up by mountains of other posts. So yes you should search to see if anyone actually discussed it but at the same time if you find it was presented but only 20 people viewed it maybe a re-post with a link to that post to prove you know that it was there isn't a bad idea.
