    lets just agree all games have a competetive side just some are **** and all genres have competetive just depends on the game.

    I also speak for everyone in the world when I say CoD will never have competetive play.

    I really don't get all the hate for CoD. What's so bad about it? Also CoD does in-fact have a competitive scene with plenty of paid tournaments.

    Re: Skullgirls

    Original CoD was good as well as Modern warfare. But after that I realized how repetitive it has become.

    The online is also bland as it's to simple and easy for me. I love zombie and survival but I'm not paying around £20 just for one thing to do on my own.

    Then again I can't say much as I'd rather kick back and relax with my friends and have a good time co-operative then hardcore competitive.

    Re: Skullgirls

    It does actually. Whether that makes sense or not is another question.

    @Deadstretch
    The legitimate reason is that it's the symbol of oversimplification, exploitation and casualization in modern gaming. It's designed to be easy and to make skill disparity as irrelevant as possible. It assumes giving the user a sense of empowerment is the main purpose of a game. It talks down to and exploits its audience. It degraded gaming to a past time rather than a legitimate hobby (let's not even talk about gaming as a sport).

    My personal reason is that I just dislike it that I hear the stereotypical popular kids in my class talk about playing CoD. Gaming used to feel like something that was mine, that separated me and my friends from them. Well, not anymore. Not to mention the fact that I have to endure some kid bragging about his 4.0 k/d ratio, knowing that I would destroy him sixty to zero in CPM.

    Also, I doubt the amount of money circulating in comp CoD is significant. My guess is $100 bucks to the winning team.

    Re: I think this thread is about Skullgirls, not so sure now

    why are you guys arguing about something that to me looks like completely taste dependant.

    I own one fighting game atm and that is UMVC3. Or should I say Everyoneplaysfuckingvergil/zero/doom3 I think balance is meh, and I still find it a fun game, but I think that doing a combo that kills an entire character just cause you got 1 easy hit confirm is bs.. thats why I prefer fighting games like street fighter.
    Is Skullgirls a uber leet 40 second combo game? or more of a street fighter-ish?

    The choosing your # of characters for a match was pretty cool. The characters themselves and the game mechanics otherwise were kinda meh.

    The transition from MVC2 to MVC3 was nothing short of offensive to true fighting game fans.

    Now piss poor fools who think mashing 3 buttons at the same time constitutes skill think they are hot ****. Blah. blah. blah.
