    Hey guys,

If you're new here, or even if you've been here for a while, take a minute to read through the rules. In addition, just a couple pieces of advice:
    - Attack ideas not people. If someone is attacking your idea, they're not attacking you. So don't take it personally.
    - Leave people's real life out of the forums. If you troll someone by finding real life pictures, or any other real world cyber stalking, you'll get exactly one warning.
    - If someone creates a redundant thread, a single post gently pointing them to the relevant thread is all that is needed. If someone has already done that, please continue discussing other appropriate topics in the thread, or don't post please. It does nothing constructive, and just annoys people. Fully redundant topics will drift naturally on their own to the bottom of the pile by directing people to the right place.

You've been a very pleasant group to moderate, and I'd love for it to stay that way. But there is not room for trolling or flame-baiting here. If you're not adding to the conversation, there's a good chance your post is one of the ones detracting from it. Just give your post a think before hitting that submit button to think what it's adding, even if it's just some humor to lighten a contentious discussion (which is totally fine).

I'm posting this in backers because it seems likely that anyone in here is with us for the long haul, so we'd like to see you all stay on the forums for a good long time. Don't put your forum privileges at risk to get into a fight with someone you probably don't even know. :)

    Cheers all!

One other thing. As in anywhere else on the internet, you need to protect your online privacy. We do what we can to stop abuses of that here on our forums. But protecting your identity online is up to you. Please be cognizant of what information you're sharing and who you're telling things to. Anonymity unfortunately breeds bad behavior in otherwise good people. Don't encourage or enable it. :)

Thank you. Now please remind the guys over on the SMNC forums too. It's crazy out of hand over there.

    Edit: Unfortunately, I'm guilty too.

I think that this advice is for not only this forum, but each individuals' life.
Thanks for posting by the way. :)

Ok, one other thing guys. Passively aggressively harassing another user about not posting something that annoys you, seriously not ok. If you are tired of it because it's annoying you for some reason, please take it up (politely) with them in PM. Don't litter a thread with your issues please.

That is a complicated sentence, though I think I kinda got the meaning of it.

How come this isn't stickied anymore? It won't do any good if it drops off the front page.

Think I had it set as a 3 or 4 day sticky, but for now, it's a good reminder to leave up top. ON that topic, actually, while we have some awesome mods, please make good use of PM. If you think someone could use some guidance on better forum posting etiquette, NICELY PM them and just mention either this post and the forum rules.

Thanks for noticing, Knight. Hadn't remembered the original sticky settings I used.

So you'd just ban the modders implementing them, right? :)
