hi everyone ! i arrived kind of late on this forum, simply because i was too lazy to look for it by myself, but hopefully the facebook post arrived i have lots of ideas/questions, but i didn't read extensively all pages of suggestions, so sorry if i make doubles. my first, and maybe most important concern is about "experimental units" like in sup'com. i understood that there will be no tech level, but will there be different "scales" of units ? by that i mean that you start the game with little mass and energy, so you fight with small and cheap units, but with time you will soon get more ressources. so basically, can we make small, then average-sized units, then bigger units, then really big units, then HUGE units, then "OH-MY-GOD-THIS-ROBOT-IS-EATING-THE-MOON"-big units ? that would be in one word : Awesome and thanks for the mouse
Not necessarily true, as per the Confirmed Features and Suggestions Sticky; http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments ... ry/c5umsgz So we might see something, but not likely in the same extent as they were in SupCom. Also, we should be using this thread; Large-scale Units Discussion (backer's lounge edition) Mike
Experimentals aren't completely out. But don't expect them to compete with standard unit roles. Units are going to be the strongest option in the game. It is most likely that expis will be doing odds and ends that can't quite fit on a normal unit.
I think that Supcom 2 T4 strength is enough for PA. But I want to see experimental units as the special units like Necro (it was not experimental though) or Bomb Bouncer, rather than simple uber units like the Krogoth.
Man that'd be awesome, I'm picturing some crazy units like a massive walking robot aircraft carrier for air support or something like Metroplex from transformers where you build a base on it then send it off to another planet or perhaps a giant scavenger that wanders around the battlefield picking up all the wreckage of dead units and extracting the resources from them while moving to the next bit of wreckage to pick up.
