the vm is faster? really? I am working with java alot, both on 64 and 32 bit and I have never seen an effect like that.

Is procesor very important? I have 2 cores, 3.0 ghz and play all games fine in max settings (with hd5750). Will this be case in PA, or memory is more important? I dont want to have minilags in game, or game slowed down.

So, buy 4 core procesor, or 4gb more memory and install 64 bits?

Well, the simulations are going to be processor intense... Unlike most games. Neutrino would have to comment on whether or not a dual core is sufficient, I don't have the game.

As far as I noticed, graphic card is more important in many cases. In FA game slow down (no fps drop, game just slow down, second in game is 2-4 sec RL) when I play against 4 AI and they builded many units, 20-40 minutes in game. Thats can be memory, or procesor, I dont know and any Uber devs could give me a hand :> Memory or procesor?

Ps. I can fix my procesor easly up to 3.6, so this will give me more power, but memory is memory, must buy it.

That was processor, because the AI hogged more resources than it actually needed. If you play online with people you don't slow down.

Yeah, I dont slow down, 4vs4 is nothing special for me (my PC) online. So, memory I think, but Neutrino saying something official would be cool and useful :p

@Devs, Is fast procesor needed for big games online in PA (it have different online stuff, i think, than FA) or memory is a must (in a bigger way than procesor)?

None of the above. The key performance stat is bandwidth. You could be staring at icons shoot sprites at other icons, and it would be just as relevant to the core workings of the server.

One thing to keep in mind is that the performance characteristics are going to be radically different from SupCom.

I don't know if that's good or bad, I'm thinking good as in requires less?

Different is really the only way to characterize it right now.

I think he means to say, the ratio of needed resources is most likely going to be different.

For example: more stress on the GPU and RAM, but less on the CPU. when compared to supcom.

That would be lovely, my GPU kick ***, and I will buy more RAM soon.

It was an example, it can go either way :p
I already underlined it, maybe go bold+full caps next time XD

disregard, if you understood that is was an example :p

Have you guys thought about doing a backer hardware survey? Star Citizen did one, and the results were surprising!

    you mean this one? http://robertsspaceindustries.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/StarCitizenSurvey.pdf
    95% have 64bit :)

perhaps its like in TA... there were maps for minimum of 32 or 64MB RAM ... now there will be games for 32bit/64bit users and some games only for 64bit users ;)

That is the one, though its probably a bit skewed, as mostly hardcore backers will bother coming to the site and doing a survey. Still though, interesting!

I was really interested in Star Citizen, but refrained from funding simply because I don't think I can afford the kind of hardware needed to play it properly! So, yes, I'd say that this survey is bloody skewed.

But I do have 64bit. It came with the computer.

In fairness, you have two years to save up! In two years time a GTX 670 is going to be mega cheap, so I don't really think thats much of an excuse!
