I cannot wait to get what ever unit packs your bring out for the community. I hope they give us a feature like Steams work shop where you can subscribe to certain mods and unit packs and receive updates when ever things are updated!
Okay, if you think so thats fine. I just wanted to express that your ship doesn't match my expectation of a battleship as the biggest ship of the fleet, which is only a subjective critique. I did some sketch on how I'd imagine a battleship, you can find it here. However I really like your gunship. Can't wait to see final result. Btw do you use 3dsMax?
Chances are it'll still be the biggest, hard to compare when it's the only one so far! ;p No, I use XSI|Softimage. Mike
Well I think this time around I'll set-up Moddb pages for any mods we come out with as well as keeping a thread here in the forums. Forums are great(Our BlackOps thread on the GPG Forum is almost 300 pages long, 25 posts a page.) but there are things Moddb is better for like doing image galleries and such. Mike
well, except for that that hate steam's "DRM", thought I admit I know very little of steamworks and the workshop stuff. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Mike
Actually that was something I was thinking about when check-in from work today, but first, Scale! Knight's PA Scale Test 01 This is Basically just a First pass but I'd say I would not want to make the Battle ship any smaller at this point, I'd only want to make it bigger from here. Compare that to SupCom. My version might not be as long, but it certainly is at least as "big" at it's SupCom when compared to units and leaves room for smaller ships as well. Also for those of you following the relevant thread in the Lounge, I'll have some extra info there. Mostly just because I was taught in XSI and a lot of the basics in Max just felt weird and off kilter when I tried to self learn it for SupCom, admittedly I was still being taught XSI at the time, so I doubt that helped, will have to give it a shot again over the next year, but it's tough when you get so comfortable with a program and have made little tweaks to better suit you it's hard to start all over again. I keep saying I'll take another crack at Max, but if Uber goes with .fbx as they said they might before I might not have to, we'll see. Mike
I'm a bit late on this but: Figured I'd take a shot at something a little less likely to make me rage and give up before I finished it. Feels like it's missing something but I dunno what.
I thought so too, not sure how to fix that though. And I only use blender because all of the other free modeling tools suuuuuuck. For the record, it was pulling teeth just to get oriented in the Blender UI. Better than previous versions though (2.6).
The blender UI does take a bit to get used to, but coming from someone who only dabbled with blender <2.6 I have to say that for someone with no experience the new UI is a lot easier to learn. As for older users, old habits die hard
The first time i used blender it scared the crap out of me and i de-installed it. After a while i really hit the limits of Sketchup so i decided to just learn Blender.
