FRAPs is popular. Requires a pretty good computer to play the game and record the game at the same time though. Amen.
I use a Hauppauge HD-PVR. My computers are pretty old so I had to resort to something external like that. Even then rendering takes ages because it's still on my laptop to do that.
Console recording Easiest: HD PVR Harder but get to play in HDMI: A capture card like the Blackmagic Intensity Pro (requires a PCI Express slot in your computer) PC recording Fraps is about as good as it gets but it requires sacrifices in performance or visuals. I can only hold a solid 60 fps in 1280x720 windowed with medium settings and vsync on. While not recording, I play in either a larger window or fullscreen 1920x1080.
I was just wondering how you guys record your gameplay sound without voice chat like skype/teamspeak... I tried using setting my game sounds to my speakers and isolating skype to my headset, but my mic is really sensitive so it is picking up all my game sounds as well as my voice. Is there any way to set FRAPs so that it doesnt record Skype sound?
I just don't go in TS/Ventrilo/Skype while recording (unless I want the chatter for live callouts on the video).
I heard many people prefer to record Skype with IMCapture for Skype ( www.imcapture.com ) , anybody used this app?
