Every now-and-then the internet manages to surprise me with the intelligence (or, more precisely, the lack thereof) of people who disagree with my opinion. This post was inspired by two such of today's surprises that I'd like to share 1) Context: My post was a simple "fixed that for you" post to build upon the overwhelming praise for FTL in a thread asking people's opinion on the game. I simply changed "best indie game of the year" to "best game of the year." Here is one response by someone who had not previously posted: The thread was immediately derailed into people (not me) criticizing him and explaining my post. 2) Context: I said that there was a lot wrong with the following post and that I would negative rep if possible: Again, an unrelated poster replied with: 3) I plan on updating this Wall of Shame with encounters people might find humorous.
Get off that Reddit clone. Most of the time it's just reputation whoring and crapping on thread ratings.
I've actually almost stopped going there. SPUD kinda killed it (not that SPUD is better, it's worse).
watchu talkin' 'bout? 4chan is amazing. I had a really good discussion about socialism on there a few months ago. Like, filled my weekly quota for intelligent discussions in one night. That being said, /b/ is pretty boring nowadays, you really have to wade through the crap to find the good threads.
/a/ is pretty lul tier. The board can be summed up as "STOP LIKING WHAT I DUN LIEK", "UR TASTES R BAD STUPID NECKBEARD" and "SAGE SAGE SAGE".
