All I am saying is, I've got a fever, and the only cure is smashing planets.

Just show 500 units marching toward the enemy base with a smoove as butta framerate and I'll be happy.

To be more specific: I'm thinking, what feature would make you come back and keep playtesting it?

500 units on the march would be a very impressive sight, but given the potential lack of good AI that early, I would be willing to trade that for other things.

    metal planet.

    but more importantly multiplayer.

I very rarely played anything else in the other games.

Multiplayer would be awesome to see, but I'd also like to see all or most of the planet types implemented.

Hmm never been in an Alpha before and I'm not sure how much
is going to be implemented. Though what I would love to see in Alpha
are all the skills/abilities and "moves" each the units and commanders
have. For some reason I've always liked seeing these things
    in every RTS.

Expect things to be broken. Being on the alpha is more work* than play. You'll win when you find all the bugs, then report them (with instructions on how to reproduce them).

    *Unless you love breaking things.

A killer feature for an alpha would be to be playable. ;)

    Define playable for me.

Its a Alpha, I would be surprised if we can go on another planet.

But I`m only in the Beta so.....no Alpha for me :(

Load without crashing is my definition of playable.

How did you know? It's one of my favourite things to do! Just ask my friends who I teach how programming to...

Same here. But that also means, that I have less bugs to worry about, so that's not too big of a deal.

And I would define a version of a game as playable if the pain from all bugs, quirks and other unwanted behaviours is lower than the enjoyment you get out of playing.

killer feature.. is here meant , thats damn badass awesome.. or that it is killing the alpha? If it's the first one: multiplayer I think.

Just to tell for all People: Alpha ist meant that all features, which were made in the functional specification document are fullfilled the beta is for fixing bugs and additionally implementation. Of course we have no idea, whats the functional specification document of uber. I just say that, because I often read "it's just alpha".

I know how an Alpha works, just never had the chance to test one
out. :) But it's those "features" I mentioned that would have me sitting there
testing/playing them into the ground. I like that stuff for some odd reason...

Id say multiplayer and having all the maps available to play against basic ai even if its a silly ai that is easy ish to beat just to have that option to play the game on an evening where the internet isnt working(If you live in the middle of no where im sure you know what i mean)

I'd imagine that the alpha will in general load for everyone .. given that they've been baking this technology for a while, it's likely stuff will either be not there, or unbalanced, or just .. not work right.

Also, given that it has a client-server architecture, I would assume multiplayer to be in before single player, because that will work before AI training.

Regarding planet types: It seems like they are going about things in the way the kickstarter did .. all the info so far is for earth-type planets, so you might have to wait for metal. (I personally never liked metal planets, because there were no resource choke points, unless one was going for a krogoth fest or something )
