I have a simple suggestion. I really want it to be there.
Explosive planets. Just, as a suggestion. Please! I think it would be EXTREMELY cool to blow a planet up from inside and deep frying the moons around it.

So the planets would be filled with hot oil?

humm planets can explode if they are going too close to a black hole in theory. Aside that, if the system orbit a black hole...should be cool to use an asteroid to push the enemy planet inside that...like a poll table

Galactic Gate for travelling between planets, walk through it, needs to have a gate on either side/planet/planetary body for it to work and uses up energy/resources for every unit sent through.

Takes a certain period of time for a unit to appear on the other side and if destroyed before the unit appears on the other side, then the units disappear/are presumed destroyed.

That's Called a Stargate....
