Too many people seem to think that this game is a TF2 clone. This kind of pisses me of because it cheapens this brilliant game. It's much more like a shooter version of DotA, in my opinion. It plays more like Demigod as far as I can tell. I really wish people would stop saying that...

My suggestions for the Uber team is to release a trailer on Steam focusing on its gameplay and how it's actually a unique and creative game that is different from TF2.

I think the Uber team should release a trailer on Steam describing the whole concept of the moneyball and how creeps fit into it. That'd clear up misconceptions nicely.

Yeah I saw the gameplay video on Youtube. The problem is there is only 1 trailer on Steam on the moment, and it doesn't describe how the game plays like that trailer. They should definitely put that trailer on Steam. :D

Is it that much of a issue anyways if its a TF2 clone or not? i think thats a compliment of a sort. However, what i have allways said to my friends is that MNC is TF2 and Dota having a child togetter. Because the gameplay kinda reminds me of it. And nothing wrong with that. still a great game. now that its coming for PC

Yeh why make a thread about this? I don't see any "hating" around here. Actually it's just love.

Because more than a few people will pass this delightful game up because they already own TF2 and they think it's just more of the same. We need to educate the masses.

I'm a pretty hardcore Team Fortress 2 fan as well, but even the Mannconomy and Hats fad is starting to move me away from TF2. "MNC -No Hats here!"

But you got to admit that a Heavy walking around with a Bullseye head would be pretty funny. And also Sandwich skin, Bacon! With its own lines!

Actually, it's not the hats. I think I have a problem with the micro-transactions for virtual items, multi-colored headgear, and the Poly-Pack. I love hats though, I wished they weren't for sale maybe it could have saved Team Fortress from Hat Fortress. :(

Though you do realize you don't have to buy stuff? And that you can even play vanilla if you lookup a bit. I play TF2 the same way I did when it was beta. (And yes, I think I'd like some level of customization in that order for MNC :p)

If you equip a full set of items from the Polycount Pack, you get a bonus. The amount of hats coupled with the small drop rate means that you're extremely unlikely to get the hat component of a set without paying for it. Also, TF2 had a beautiful art style until they sullied their character's silhouettes with some of the less-explainable hats. Some of them fit in just fine - Spy's Fedora/Billycock and Medic's Mask/Mirror spring to mind - but the Ghastly Gibus? The goddamn rabbit ears?

Once a game starts giving benefits to those who pay extra, I start getting a little wary. That said, I do enjoy BC2.

Fortunately the hats don't cover the entire body and I had no problems, so far, recognizing the characters. Though what you say it's true about the bonus you'll also notice some of them drastically change your gameplay and are likely to be less efficient if you are not used to it. The fact that the set has a bonus doesn't take off the disadvantages of each individual part of the equipment. I think it's all pretty well balanced and my concern has been the demoman pipebombs since the very beggining, i still feel they are offbalance (oh and natascha, but that's being minimized on beta already) :p

Tsc so much TF2 talk :p

PS: So yeah, that thing of who pays gets more gameplay advantage is a lie.

I was a TF2 player. Logged over 2500 hours. I remember seeing a trailer for this a long time ago on the TF2 Steam forums and the first thing I thought was "Oh, a TF2 clone." I still think now that it takes a large amount of ideas from TF2, but it doesn't mean I'm bashing MNC. I still think this game looks cool and am looking forward to it. You could also say the same about some Call of Duty features such as the class selection system. It's an exact replica of it. Again, it doesn't mean I'm putting the game down.

Yes, they do but they weren't mainstreamed until the later games. As for the Call of Duty reference, take a look at the class selection screen in MNC. Then take a look at the Call of Duty class selection screen.

Exactly, I'm in love with it also. I agree with you.
