How about making the melee attack of scramblers do no damage to pros but instead make it drain their juice? They're really not a threat on their own anyways, but at least if they drained juice their spawning could be justified.
This isn't a bad idea. Not only would it give them a bit more use in Crossfire, they'll also be largely unchanged in Blitz, though Tanks may be effected quite a bit.
Scramblers actually work pretty well. If three spawned instead of just two, I think that they would be perfectly balanced.
I still think they're worthless :| To me it's like paying to get a melee kill. It's just...why even bother since it costs you? Your money will only go to good use by happenstance since scramblers aren't especially fast, durable, or hard-hitting...
I always spawn scramblers, keeps assassins cloaks down and annoys people as they never really follow the lane paths, and can sneak up back paths. I think their effect should drain juice as well as abilities.
Buff their movement speed in crossfire, or add a skill drain aura that lingers in their area after they die (in crossfire) and I think they would be good. Juice drain would be a fun idea though.
I say the way to actually make scramblers useful is to buff their armor, but the devs have already directly said that won't happen because it will screw up Blitz. The problem with the scrambler is that for it's effect to work it has to be close to it's target. If they gave it the same armor and speed as the bouncer then that might actually work out, but since it has very little health it's normally destroyed before it gets anywhere near an enemy pro.
I believe Eka said that all changes to pros, bots, and turrents have to be applied to both Crossfire and Blitz; so apparently that's not an option. Tack the effect onto a ShaveIce turrents and we've got ourselves a winner. Unfortunately, scramblers would still not be worth paying for :| I'm sticking by the idea that scrambler melee attacks should drain juice instead of causing damage to pros(but still damage bots and turrents normally). If they did this, they'd be as much a priority target as any other player-spawned bots are because their mere presence would force players to rely solely on their weapons. Think about it would affect each class. Wouldn't it be panic-inducing to suddenly lose the ability to juice as well as your skills? Of course, this doesn't change the fact that scramblers are still easy targets that stick out like a sore thumb. But at least if they had an additional crippling effect they could be more of a priority target in Blitz and actually be worth spawning for something other than lulz in Crossfire. We don't have any use for an uncontrollable Dan Hibiki, do we?
