So what is Uber going to do now? Are they going to stay small and dedicated to the fans, or are you guys going to try to expand and become another Bungie or Treyarch or something? Are they going to forget their original Xbox fanbase and focus on PC (Cough Valve, not saying that their fanbase was originally Xbox but they don't care about us cough)? I know it's not going to happen overnight, but seeing as how amazing Monday Night Comabt is something's going to happen. MNC so far reminds me of Shadowrun. Small fanbase, but it's incredibly dedicated.
From this: http://kotaku.com/5607523/monday-night- ... d-it-twice To this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_eTsZXZ1LE Can't wait to see how you guys take off from all this. I wanted to find the site that said the game was going to fail just cause they were so butthurt about not getting a code yet, but could not.
Im kinda disappointed its going to pc, because as a 360 player i know they can get updates/patches/fixes faster and im scared we are going to get left in the dark, like almost every other game i love thats on both systems.
The dedicated community, the publicity and the fact that XBLA games don't get this deep of a metagame.
I'm over the moon it's coming to PC. I'm not going to get it myself but once the pc community start editing & map making then Uber will see the true potential of the game. Any good maps are bound to be released for us as DLCs.
It's not that they don't care, it's that Microsoft sucks. Valve wants to release their patches for free, but Microsoft is not only slow at authenticating patches they also want Valve to charge for the patches, too, so that Microsoft will get a cut. Instead of trying to deal with the fail that is Microsoft, they stick with Steam where they have control, and can help people release things for the PC quickly.
I hope it doesn't end up like SR. Even though the community lasted 3 years, the company closed down 5 months after release. MNC is already making progress though, with 2 patches and a DLC out.
I'd say Monday Night Combat is successful based on the fact it is potentially the best XBLA Arcade game to have come out. It has a ridiculous amount of content considering it is an arcade game. I was genuinely surprised and it was the first game in goodness knows how many months to pull me off Left 4 Dead 2. So much so that I haven't even bought the new Left 4 Dead 2 DLC because I know I'd rather play Monday Night Combat. In response to ShadowRun, it is an absolute disappointment because I just bought it yesterday and whilst the game has a lot of potential, a remake is probably needed with better graphics and a better menu.
