We got to level 166 with 3 Supports, but I feel with 4 supports a team can even go farther. Now there are a total of 12 turrets on the ground in Survivatol, which all 12 can be hacked with 3 supports, which is how we did it, but with 4 players you could use something other than a support for the fourth guy but they need to be juiced all the time just destroying. Turret Placement: Front two Moneyball turrets are ShaveIce. All other turrets are RockIt Turrets. ALL, no longshots anywhere! Supports: Each support takes a section of 4 turrets to hack, teams can decide how to do this. 3 of the supports with be hack the ground turrets and the 4th Support hacks all the firebases. Firebase locations: Their are two upper platforms now that need to be thought of because Jackbots and gapshots come out of these. When a person jumps up to these they will notice a circle that starts at the front. The firebase needs to be set up at the back of the circle but on the edge of the platform closest to the side doors that it is next to. (ie: Top left platform, firebase is put up on left edge of the platform looking at left side door) So one firebase is set up on each platform at those locations, and the other two firebase locations I wanna practice with but I was think on the upper ring between the front and side doors on the edge of the ring, to shoot at both doors and the jackbots that come out on the top platforms. These 2 firebase locations are subject to change. Lastly, Juice! Remember that you have a LOT of money after level 70/80 or something, so don't be afraid to use juice. Especially when the round of 12 gapshots come out of the top doors, I recommend to juice them so your firebase doesn't shoot at them for too long. Also the First time 5 Jackbots come out of all the doors after level 100, DO NOT USE THE ANNIHILATOR!!! Use it when the next round comes, your turrets should do fine and juice the crap out of them! If you are using 3 people, the 3 supports setup would be the same, but the firebases just wouldn't be hacked. and the third firebase can be on the floor somewhere shooting at one of the doors. That is what I have for now! I hope this helps people.
This lasted fairly well up until the 100+ rounds. The bots started moving f'in fast after that, even with the Shaveices. Definitely an unorthodox method to blitz mode, and you hardly get any bot kills, but very effective.
Did the back rockets ever actually mean anything? I can't figure their range offered very much to them, and it seems like you got the same progress I did (I later found out that I did go with 3 Supports, the 2 Supports + Assassin was a different game). The Long Shots give you an extra shot at hitting the elevated stuff, since Supports definitely have a hard time really doing anything to those Jackbots. I really think having an Assassin would help though, since it can safely get to those with minimal risk.
Wouldn't shaveice's be more useful on the outer ring, one on the left on on the right close to the front? that way they have more coverage and slow down bots earlier on?
Rhine - I wanted to try that as well, but the only reason I feel it may not work as well is because the Jackbots aim for the ShaveIce's more prominently than the rockets, and if they are in front you have less rockets shooting at the upper jackbots and the ShaveIce's may be taken out too easily, but I do wanna try it still. Organous - Yes the rockets did a lot and still reached the side walkways. Lasers reached farther but were taken down too easily. I don't think the longshots would serve much of a pupose still, even when hacked with the setup I came up with. SXD - it has to be different to get farther haha... it was fun playing with you earlier but I had to get off. But if we do it right we should get farther. Juice needs to be used plenty more though! haha. I think the hack firebases will help a bit more!
I am very interested in trying the following: -Three Tanks -Four Tanks -Three Tanks, one Support -Three Supports, one Tank
Tanks don't work as good in SSDB then in SDB. After around 10-20 rounds the bots are strong enough that Death Blossoms don't take enough of them out fast enough. Not to mention you really need hacked turrets on this new map.
So this is what you were working on the other night, GrindouT. Looked like you had fun, I'll take you up on your offer next time.
I managed to make it to 106(i think) solo using a slight variation of your strat. Mainly the variations I did make was due to the fact of being solo and only having limited hacking. From the outside left to outside right I used, Rockit, Rockit, Ice, Rockit, Rockit, Ice, Rockit, Long Shot. The 4 closest to MB I used all Rockit's. I kept my firebase right at the base of the MB until I was able to build all level 1 of each turret. Once I was able to do that, I moved the FB to the top left circle where the gap shots come out but still able to fire on the side bots with hack on. As far as other hack goes I just kept my FB, the 2 most front Rockit's, and my last Rockit turret from clockwise (2nd from end between ice and long shot, right next to path). The thing that really kills me is when the gap shots occasionally pop out from the top right and I don't notice right away. They always kill the long shot but at least it's cheap to upgrade. Made it right around the 105 range a couple times since yesterday but that's all I can manage before it's overwhelming. Cheers on the strat. I'm trying to experiment more myself.
I've tried 3 Tanks and 1 Support before, and we lasted up to 78 I think. We just made everything Rock-It LVL 3 'cept for 2 spots for Longshots in the very back. Each Tank got one of the ground spawners and Deployed, Charged, anything they could do to keep the horde back. We left the 2 upper spawners alone for the most part 'cause more Buzzers came out and they would just die off anyway. Only problem was Jackbots and Gapshots, but the Support healed anything that was taking damage, and we use whatever time we had left from letting bots live to upgrade and get ready for the next wave. And even if you cant one-shot Blackjacks with DB, you can just juice to do that and with all the pick-ups that drop, buying it is obsolete. Still, I think I would want to try 2 and 2 of Tanks and Support. Both Supports could drop their FB right in front of the upper spawners, 2 tanks gets the left and right grown spawners, and the 2 Supports stick mainly to the middle to get the middle spawner and run around hacking the middle Rock-Its as more of a defense since they can't defend it really only with their shotguns. And with their FB on the upper stories, Buzzers/Gap Shots wont pose a turret threat as much and they can focus more on healing/hacking on the ground floor.
This was my first inclination too, but I don't think it works as well as shave ice (hacked) on the front two nubs at the money ball. My reasoning is this... If you put 2 shaveice on the outer ring (right in front of the elevated lanes is the most logical spot), then you do slow down bots sooner, but during that time the side bots are only being shot by one turret (hacks and firebases aside). If you put them in front of the money ball and hack them, they kick in towards the end of the side lanes, where the bots will be hit by at least 2 turrets while slowed down. Also, those spots on the outer ring are key turrets for 2 things -- gap shots and the dreaded upper lane jackbots. You can have the best plan in the world, but SSDB get so damn hectic that sometimes you don't notice or can't get to a gapshot up there for a few moments. Having a rock-it on that nub right in front of the platform can really make a difference. As for the jackbots up there, obviously you notice them, but goddamn they are strong. Having a rocket laying into them right there makes a big difference.
I've been to 141 solo, but theres a jackbot round that comes pretty soon after another jackbot round, and the annihilator isn't ready yet. I've gotten past the second round, but by the time I do, most of my turrets are down and I can't build back up fast enough. Even if you're not sharing in general, do you have any pointers on what to do about that part?
