What are "megaprojects"?

I don't remember if it was mentioned in the describtion on kickstarter or somewhere else, but I clearly remember some official source mentioning "megarprojects". It said something along the lines of "build megaprojects!" or something like that.

So, just what exactly are megaprojects?

I think I remember something alike it, I think it was related to the +40 games where an ai would take your game over if you left and give it back to you when you came back.

I assumed it was a reference to large and expensive structures, or complexes of structures (i.e., turn this moon into a mass farm). Do you have the source?

I've never heard of megaprojects being mention outside of some discussion on the forums.
