So post DLC, i've noticed a lot of hate on the Assassin, mostly because of the Juice Gain Rate, although people are not specifing that thats their problem with them, they just talk about how the class is cheap now and can kill the turrets very quickly. Well as for Juice Damage the - Assassin Puts out:She can never one-hit slash someone while juiced, it always takes 2+ slashes at max health to kill another pro. -The increased damage she puts out while juiced is because she will mainly go face-to-face with any pro or turret while juiced. -Even while juiced, turrets can severly damage her. -With the lowest armor, the damage is greatly increased while juice to counter it. Trying to kill a Juiced Assassin:-She is the lowest armor of all classes. -With two coordinated pro's the Assassin can be killed (without ringouts). -Mutliple classes have the ability to ringout the Assassin while she is juiced, The Tank, Gunner, Sniper, and the Assault, which the Assault probably has it the easiest as there isn't much of aiming with their Grapple-Throw. -If she is in your base while Juiced, even if you don't have a grapple throw, grappling her while you have 1-2 turrets still up within firing range of her, this will significanly hurt her, if not kill her. -If you have some supports on your team, make it clear they should start using their Firebases for defense as out of everything else in the game, the Firebase does the most damage to an Assassin, even while Juiced. Tips on handling a Juiced Assassin: (May be repetitive from the upper sections) -The first i'm going to say is the easiest to handle them is to grapple, juice still is depleted while being grappled, sure you might die afterwards, but you have to take one for the team. -Shaveice, may be more valuable than pre-DLC, as everyone knows that a Juiced Assassin will Dash through their base killing all the turrets, having a Shaveice turret as one of the outer turrets, it will significantly slow the Assassin's speed, saving ~2 turrets that she may have killed. -Snipers, your traps are wonders, instead of using all of them to protect yourself, if you see an Assassin on the other team, plan your icetraps accordingly, maybe 3 meters in front of your inner turrets. -Any slam, charge, or anything else they will throw an Assassin back will greatly deplete her Juice bar before she re-enters your base. Class Base ways to deal with Assassins: Assault: -Your charge will be the best defense against a Juiced Assassin, with atleast Level 2 charge, it will keep the Assassin at bay and will deplete her Juice bar some. -Plan accordingly with your Head Crab as even if it doesn't damage the Juiced Assassin a lot, it will fling the Assassin some ways. -Flying will definitly help if your on an upper floor, just fly off the upper floor and hover over a spot she cannot reach, most Assassins will not take the time to switch to the Shuriken Launcher and shoot you down. Tank: -You may be the hardest to kill for a Juiced Assassin out of all other classes. -You have the most armor out of every other class, you will last longer. -Your grenade will blind the Assassin, and the Assassin will just go in a flurry Slashing all the time, not knowing where she is, so stay out of her direct path. -Your charge will be your best way to possibly safe your life or your base, throwing her back and that 1 second while the Assassin gets back up from the chage is precious time. -Grapple will slow down the Assassin enough that it will save atleast 1 turret in your base. Assassin: -This will be the hardest class to deal with a Juiced Assassin, as you are yourself and Assassin. -Your best way to save yourself and/or your base from complete destruction is Smoke bomb. -Why? You have no other ways really, Smoke Bomb will blind the Juiced Assasin, making her not know if shes really attacking a Turret or not, and it will save you as you can jump away from her. -Blinding a Juiced Assassin really does help, it may save some of your teamates and certainly atleast 1 turret. Support: -If you defending then your grapple will come in handy. -Grappling an Assassin with turrets around your base will severly damage her, if not kill her (if you have ~2 3.3 RockIt Turrets). -Plus your Firebase does the MOST damage out of ANYTHING else to an Assassin, aswell as a Juiced Assassin. -With a grapple and Firebase you can get a Juiced Assassin to ~60% health, thats with no other turrets helping you out. -Your shotgun does great against any Juiced Pro, especially against Assassins, with the lowest Armor. -Now i know they run fast and it may be hard to shoot them with your shotgun, but timing and planning where she will run is precious. -Airstrikes, stick her and its an instant kill! Best thing to do against Juiced Assassins. Sniper: -Icetraps, the greatest invention for a Sniper, Icetraps will stop Juiced Assassins dead in her tracks. Plan accordingly by placing traps around the inner/outer of your base, protecting turrets, etc. Icetraps also waste precioud time from their Juice Bar. -Grapple, ah, one of the best if not the best grapple in the game. Using your grapple on a Juicd Assassin, 50/50 chance that you will get a ringout, completely saving your base. Gunner: -Slam, Slam, Slam, Slamming when the Juice Assassin is near will save you for the time being, and push the Assassin further away from your base, saving ~1-2 turrets while also wasting time on their Juice. -Grapple, while they are in your, grappling will waste their time on Juice aswell as have any remaining turrets in your base to continue damaging her, which does a lot of damage as she has the lowest armor in the game. -Grapple Level 3 throws, 50/50 chance you'll get a ringout, solving your problems with the Juiced Assassin. Pushing Lanes will also cut down on Assassinsgetting Juice significantly. They're not going to get Juice if they have pros stopping them from killing Bots. Now i will admit that currently the Juice Gain Rate is maybe 25% too high for the Assassin, but for the time being everyone must figure out ways to deal with Juiced Assassins. There is nothing Overpowered about the Assassin, other than the Juice Gain Rate. Without Juice, the Assassin is by far the easiest class to kill by any class. Each class only needs about 2 seconds of shooting an Assassin to kill her. She has no offense damaging abilities. To say the Assassin class is Overpowered is incorrect as its the global "Juice Gain Rate" That is overpowered, not the Class. Juice Should be as rare as Bacon in a game, and currently its as common as Slimbots in a game. Change that and everyone's problem is solved. Any input is welcomed.
Re: Dealing with Assassins You hear their cloak for one (and it does not let you hear your friendly cloaks now), and flying as assault makes you immune to grapples. Just incase we get some new members today which I think is pretty likely.
Re: Dealing with Assassins What about the support airstrike? 1 hit will take out a juiced assassin. Also the Assaults bombs are amazing for protecting turrets. The second the assassin goes for it set off the bomb and watch him go flying.
Re: Dealing with Assassins You're right, i completely forgot about Airstrikes, thanks for reminding me and i have now added it to the list.
Re: Dealing with Assassins I'd like to add that lane control is also a good way to keep assassins from even building up their juice in the first place. Don't let them kill your bots. Have a pesky juicing assassin constantly storming your base? Follow your bots out. Odds are you'll find that assassin in some secluded corner the bots stomp past happily blowing them up. Even if you don't kill them, chasing them out of their bot farming spot repeatedly means they're not building their juice, which reduces them from a base defense wrecking machine to a mid-map nuisance. Tanks are great for this because assassins have trouble killing them. Support with the but buffing skill keeping a team of blackjacks over healed is also good discouragement because the bots in a cluster of 4-6 with over heal can actually do some decent damage, and an alert support in the middle of it is hard to grapple without eating delicious shotgun.
Re: Dealing with Assassins I like your post and try to do most of the the suggestions, but I'd like a little help with a few things. Any help for lag situations? Because I generally have atleast 90 - 140 ping, which isn't too intense, but it makes it difficult to grapple or plant bombs/airstrikes on moving assassins. Generally when I see a juiced assassin coming at me, I try to grapple them, but it usually doesn't catch on the first try, or my character won't actually even attempt to grapple before they hit 2-3 times and I'm dead. And another thing I have a question for, how do you feel about shurikens? I never really had a problem with them till earlier today when an assassin managed to (out of what I assume is luck) bounce a bunch of crit shurikens 3 times and around a corner straight into me before I could react. And I was also hacking a turrent and an assassin starting shooting the turrent and killed me through it. They were hitting straight into the front of the lazerblazer and I was standing behind it and died almost instantly. How do I defend myself against shurikens better?
Re: Dealing with Assassins I just tested this with a friend in a private match, this isn't true. You can 1-slash kill a support, sniper and assassin with the sword while juiced. Although this is without any of them having any armor upgrades.
Re: Dealing with Assassins ive posted a visual assassin guide that shows that assassin is the most skillful class in the history of monday night combat. and it should shut up all the haters: http://www.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4479
Re: Dealing with Assassins Well yes, this may be true, but most people have armor upgrades, if you don't then you shouldn't complain about dying quickly, lol
Re: Dealing with Assassins After playing last night, I swear the Assassin shurikens are better now. They killed me as a gunner several times VERY quickly.
Re: Dealing with Assassins Skurikens can kill anyone very quickly aslong as they are either stationary, or every Skuriken hits, especially if they are all Crits (Cloak Level 3). And if they dont have Silver+ armor.
Re: Dealing with Assassins Shurikens are automatically crits while uncloaking out of Level 3 Cloak, Crit Shurikens are extremely deady, the best thing i'd say to do is stop hacking extremely quick and move 1 or 2 feet to the left or right, i could always kill a support with level 3 crit shurikens with 1/3 a clip, aslong as they all hit.
If you have 2 or more fully upgraded rockIt turrets shooting a Juiced Assassin while you grapple her should kill her or extremely hurt her
3.3 rock-it and .3 firebase = dead assassin if you do anything at all other than let her run in and attack the turret (ie grapple her, shotgun her) 2x 3.3 rock-its + .3 firebase = dead assassin even if she doesn't get interrupted, in my experience. If your opponents have one or more juice happy assassins and you're defending your base, you're better off saving your money until you can build a 3.3 rock-it from scratch. A level 1 or 2 will fall too fast. Build the level 3, overheal and hack as fast as possible, and make sure that firebase is down. Relying on teammates helping is pointless in most pub games, but sniper ice traps in front of the turrets are the best additional defense.
Being an assassin id like to chime in and help I keep seeing so many posts of new players having problems with juice assassin, I don't really understand why. Few things id like to point out. 1. a single 3.3 firebase will kill a juice assassin in roughly 4 seconds or so, as assassins are the easiest class to actually kill during juice. 2. Being a light class/melee she is among the easiest pros to ring out 3. A single tank or sniper (explosive rounds) pushing with your bots can completely prevent an assassin from ever getting juice in the first place. 4. Ice traps on your turrets are the BANE of a juice Asaassin, if she steps in one, she might get the turret, but she will die. 5. even with juice she still is flimsy and a gunner can still kill her with a spun up mini in 3-4 seconds flat 6. Grapples, if you land a grapple on her within range of a 3.3 firebase or 3.3 rocket, shes dead. period. Even with no turrets, you have stopped her for half of her juice and saved much of your precious base defense. 7. A single decent tank or assault can prevent her from so much as even LOOKING at your base turrets. 8. Assasins are the best counter to assassins, when she hits juice, cloak up behind her and back grapple, this will drop her down to about red hp, follow it with a smokebomb jump and not only will she fail to kill you due to the dmg reduction, but she will be blind and on the brink of death. 9. Counter juice, every pro in the game is more deadly vs pros while juiced then the assassin. Her juice rate is in a perfect place, people fail to realize its only high because she is picking up ALL juice boxes since she has to be in melee range to kill them. They also fail to realize that killing bots and turrets is the assassins STRENGTH. Its what she freaking does. Her pro killing power is much lower then all other classes, except maybe the support. Its risk vs reward, she has the most risk involved in gaining juice, and she needs juice to really be a "Credit to team" Tldr: The sin is fine despite her glitches, people need to simply play more, get better, and hone their tactics on stopping juiced players in general.
I know they can be controlled, but I have always had a problem with the grapple, and getting her to focus on me rather than turrets, or my FB. Most of the juiced sins ive been up against run in take out my turrets, FB, then me. I really need to get better with the grapple.
