Im not sure if this is intended but when i aim low from a bridge or upper tier the rail shot just hits the floor "more like invisible wall"even though im aiming at a target clearly within my range. This makes shooting a target under me very difficult.
As much as I'd like to say I have the same problem, I fear its how they solved the issue for shooting through walls. :?
This was also happening to me all day. It was most noticeable on Steel Peel when on the bridge in front of the enemy base.
ive been noticing people having difficulty with this in game. i think its better than what it was, but it still takes a lot of wiggling around to be able to take a shot in certain places you should easily be able to shoot at. its like the railgun pulls a gunner mortar, and get caught on a floor thats not in your reticle. i guess no biggie, youll hafta expose yourself more to get a shot is all...
I watched a tank jet gunning through the new windows on AmmoMule. it was on the right side of his base, left window. He destroyed a FB through the window by getting really, really close and blasting. It was about 1/2 way in, and he wasn't cutting the corner or anything like that.
The open windows overlooking the enemy base on Laze Raze, not sure if it is both sides, but definitely the left.
This is indeed the fix for a far nastier problem. I believe I have given a more thorough explanation in the past if you feel like digging through my post history. The short version is that when firing the railgun a ray trace is performed from the barrel of the gun to the target location. If the barrel of the gun is obstructed, such as by a window seal, then your shot will hit be blocked.
I thought as much. It makes those windows a fine place to be shot at, but to not shoot back from. I am going to get my Tank the surgery to stretch his legs.
