I have to ask if they were.

Because if we make 2.1 million, and kickstarter takes their 5% mentions in their FAQ and then Amazon take their 5% in the FAQ we are left with a total of: 1,895,250

With say 40,000 in paypal we come out with 1,935,250

So with deductions and even with an added estimate of the paypal amount we don't truly come out with two million.

Where the goals designed to foresee this?

(Yes i know i will get flak for this, just asking though, i do have faith uber did research and accounted for this.)

Uber would have taken into account such things when making the stretch goals in the first place.

Besides, I think one of the Uber team mentioned that not all of the budget for a stretch goal will be spent on that exact stretch goal. For instance, there was a $200k difference from Galactic Wars to an orchestral soundtrack. But that doesnt mean that the orchestral soundtrack will cost $200k to produce, it might only cost $150k. That gives the devs money to spend on other things, like extra testing, etc etc.

Also, they would also have taken into account the cost of each tier. For instance, the $500 tier that includes a commander statue - they would have got quotes for how much those things would cost to make. So lets say they cost $20 each to make, the devs know that for each $500 tier, they actually get only $480.

Trust me, they would have had accountants look at all of this and come up with a reasonable budget and project plan. They will have a good idea about how much money they will have, they just need to decide what the best way to spend it will be.

I would be gobsmacked if a mature dev company like Uber didn't take the fees into consideration from the beginning. There have been enough screw ups by now that no company should have an excuse in that regard.

This, I mean, even I know this just from following several other projects over the last 6 months(DoubleK, Zombicide, Desktop Ballista ect ect) and I'd be Supremely Disappoint in Uber if they hadn't done any research themselves.

Luckily we don't have to worry about they, they've had a few months whiel working on the Pre-Vis to sort that all out anyways.
