Galactic Wars is cool and all but THIS has got me really excited. I love Howard Mostrom's music and if the previews music was anything to go by than this game will have AMAZING music. What are your thoughts on this stretch goal?
its nice to have, but not that important to me... Normally background music is set to a minimum for me, as I play via teamspeak mainly, and music is just annoying if you talk to other people while playing.
Totally agree, I maybe listen to the music the first hour, after that I simply turn it off or replace it completely with my own music. Especially in multiplayer where you have to communicate with teammates, music is very disturbing...
I love the music in games, actually i think music and sound effects are one of the most important things, to make a good atmosphere. So yeah I really like it, but i can understand it, if we dont reach it.
I agree with yourtime, music for me really helps add to the atmosphere, particularly when Im playing skirmishes against AI or multiplayer in random matches without friends. Admittedly I tend to turn music down when I'm playing with friends over VoIP but I do hope they make it to Orchestra - I quite enjoy the soundtracks of games.
If the music is good, I'll put it on something portable and listen to it everywhere. Eg: Baba Yetu song from Civ4 Reminded me of how fun it could be, getting me to play it more often. Also many of the TA songs (favourite is Forest Green) get me playing TA again. It doesn't alter gameplay, but does drastically increase the worth of the game (in my experience) since I play it so much more often, even long after it was released. As something I can experience both in game and out, and which improves the worth of the game, this is one of the things I'm most excited to see.
I'd love the orchestrated soundtrack. While I do like talking to other people while I play, a game's soundtrack is really important to me, and can make the experience far better than otherwise. I'm really hoping for the orchestrated, but I'm sure it'll be great even if it doesn't make it there.
