So the T-shirts. I am excited about it and glad to be getting one but one question is bugging me. Will they be silk screened or some kind of iron-on decal? I believe silk screening makes a superior shirt for many reasons and results in a longer lasting T-shirt overall.
I use to work at T-shirt printing shop and it's by no means that simple. there are 3 mane ways to print on T-shirt, screen print, ink jet and heat press. and all can be done well depending on the ink and equipment. The mane problem I find with promotional T's is the quality of the shirt. So if you know, what is the type and GSM (grams per square meter) of the fabric ?
For some strange reason ink jets on a T-shirt has not occurred to me as a process. I do not know much about T-shirts but I have a reliable company that I get most of my regular shirts from. I enjoy screen printed shirts mainly because I love the history and simplicity behind the process. My current shirts that I own have been screen printed and are going on 7 years without an issue. A problem I see is that maybe a screen printed shirt may be harder to produce in a large quantity so if use of ink jet is an option then I say sure as long as it is not a decal.
I my experience the ink jet is the worst of them, but the ink jet printer was an old one and the ink was very thin, but it is very cost effective with multi colour but is. A lot of the problem with the decal heat press is the people iron them on at home and they need a very pacific temperature and high pressure to do adhere well, they'll crack faster but fade less. I too prefer screen printing but that's mostly because I know more about it, and if you stuff it up you can see.
I would also like to know if the colours are set in stone or not. Personally, I would really love the Alpha shirt, but with the colours inverted; Yellow on black instead of black on yellow. //Edit: Fixed spelling mistake.
