Have Uber said anything yet about how much they have received from non-Kickstarter funding sources, such as Paypal, yet? I'm trying to assess how likely they are to reach the $1.8mil mark as frankly, if this game is purely AI skirmish and multiplayer, I'm not interested.
Read the FAQ; it is said there. Now as to whether or not we reach the 2mil goal it is opened for debate. Pretty sure we will hit the 1,8 tho.
The current average daily payment is $57,900. That's propped up by the 2nd day's $200k donation though, so it's only been at or above average the last few days. If we do reach the average each day for the rest of the kickstarter, we'll hit ~$1,794,914. Given the natural increase that tends to happen towards the end of a kickstarter, and the still unannounced 5th stretch goal (which tend to boost donations when announced), I'd say we should hit $1.8mil. $2mil will be tough though.
Well, this is why they really should release the 5th goal ASAP. There are like 5 days left, and I'm sure it'll take a bit of time for news about the 5th goal to get around to everyone (not including people who look at the thing on a daily bases, like me). The sooner we hear it, the higher I expect the pledges to be by the end of the kickstarter.
Could I get a link to that FAQ? Because the Kickstarter one doesn't seem to have an exact dollar amount for how much has been contributed to the project via paypal, like the OP asked for.
I can't give you our PayPal contribution amount, I don't know it, but I can say for other projects that have released information on how much they've made from PayPal it's been somewhere between 3-5% of the Kickstarter amount.
Kicktraq's low projection is ~$1.7 million. $1700000 * .03 = $51k $1700000 * .05 = $85k It's going to be close.
No matter how little the amount might seem, I'm glad that there was a Paypal option. Allowed me to contribute 50 credits.
Based on the info above I'd guess that the $1.8mil barrier will most likely be breached on the last day. Guess I'd better go stump up some cash! Cheers for the replies, all!
Way I figure it, if I don't contribute it'll be even closer! I'll keep an eye on the PA Kickstarter on Friday. If they haven't gotten to about $1,750,000 with a few minutes to go I'll probably have to withdraw my pledge - Like I said, if they can't guarantee a single player "campaign", I'm really not interested. Fingers crossed, eh?
I'm more worried about the misinformed people like you that we won't hit the 1.8 mark. Because, if you have payed attention, everything they want to implement that doesn't get funded in the kickstarter will probably be added after the release of the initial game. (Think DLC) I think alot of people are pretty misinformed if you ask me, and this could be hundreds of extra donations. So once again you see how important good marketing is.
Misinformed? He knows exactly what's happening: it might not have the feature he absolutely must to make it worthwhile, so he's waiting until it does or is close enough to risk it. Which, well, tons of people do. That's generally what people do, buy things that have the features they want. And who cares if it's DLC later? That's LATER. Like before, tons of people are willing to wait for the GotY edition either because it WILL be cheaper, and/or because it will be the complete edition with the best experience available. So calling it misinformed is a bit much. It's just a different mindset with different priorities.
I agree with this. The whole reason I was comfortable throwing down a small pledge, and then later increasing the amount is that stretch goal three basically encompassed all of the features I really, REALLY wanted. However, for someone else who doesn't have a must have feature thrown in just yet(the almost a single-player campaign that is galactic war), has every reason to wait and see if it will be worth their time(and money) to support something that might not give them the features they want.
