Wouldn't be cool to have some transforming units in PA, just like: Cybrans Salamander Class ships, which can walk on land. Arm/Core's seaplanes, who can hide underwater waiting for an ambush. I just like the idea of using sneaky weaponry, which shock the enemies
I loved the Salamander Destroyers In SupCom. But honestly, I wished it was a submarine that could sneak up on the coast, surface, and then use it's guns. While maybe crawling over land to support land forces or to access new waters. Unit's like that make people think of crazy strategies.
I absolutely loved the Salem. Not only for the mega cool factor of "oh my gawd my ship has legs *nerdy smile*," but that because it was the destroyer that could do it, it proved to be quite versatile as a support class and for base defense. I like the idea of simplicity, but also crazy stuff that opens up the possibilities. Yes. I have hope.
What i like is that you dont need to push any buttons for it to do that, which i feel is important to reduce micromanagement.
This. The Cybran Destroyers were great example of this sort of dual-purposing done right* whereas the Seraphim ones were a PITA with their manual submerging/surfacing. * Except when the path-find messed-up and tried to take agonisingly slow 'short-cuts' over land instead of just sailing around an obstacle.
