You have to remember that at one point, the people who made TF2/TFC were just the makers of a mod at one point...even smaller than Uber Ent.

TFC was essentially a port of QWTF made by Valve on the HL engine. QWTF, however, was made by a small mod team.

TF2 finally died completely around the Pyromania update as far as I'm concerned. It was on life support long before that, but too many shitty unlocks and hats were clogging its arteries and that piece of **** video was the heart attack it needed to put it out of its misery. Sadly, because it's VALVe and F2P, it will chug along as a lifeless zombie corpse for years to come, a depressing mockery of its former glory.

TL;DR: TF2's a joke now. I couldn't give less of a ****.

$10 for a gameplay-altering weapon that won't have a recipe until half a year later. I'm calling it now. TF2's peak was the Engineer update, and then it went downwards. I REMEMBER MEDIC'S CROSSBOW BEING SOLD FOR $10, WHICH IS THE RETAIL PRICE OF TF2.

I'd say the Engineer update was the last good update TF2 had, although its peak is arguably just about any of the class updates we had until then. The real beginning of the downfall was either the Halocaust or Mannconomy update, because both of them signaled a rather drastic change from TF2's development priority being on well thought out gameplay.

TF2s peak was early 2000 of TFC.

Nothing good ever comes out of TF2 threads on the SMNC forums. People just come in, bash on the game and say why SMNC is x100 superior.

No it gets bashed here because people disliked the direction the game took when trading came in and it went F2P, they don't hate tf2 they hate the traders and everything that comes with it.

In other news, SMNC was doing Hoard Mode before Hoard Mode was "The Cool Thing To Do."

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the peeps here at Uber helped a bit with the TF2 Hoard Mode. They have more experience with this game mode than most.
