Anyone who says they wouldn't go for All Time Great, regardless of how many they have, are being intellectually dishonest. All Time Greats are few and far between. Winning is meh compared to getting one.

Hudson, here's the scenario for the question you should have asked:

Your team and the enemy are neck and neck in the last few minutes of regulation play. You have 5/6 kills for an all time great. You can either kill the last enemy for the title or you can shoot their ball. If you don't shoot the ball, their shields will be restored and will most likely mean you'll lose the game.

Do you go for the title or do you go for the win?

Even then I think most people are going to go for the title. Just another win won't matter, but it's always nice to have another very rare title.

Hudson, here's the scenario for the question you should have asked:

    You're 6:02 into the game
    pub match
    1:17AM
you've had exactly 83 ounces of coffee in the last 36 minutes
    It's slightly overcast

Enemy ball down 90% success rate, 6 assassins coming out 90% chance to kill 'em all but if you do you will urinate on yourself. Do you go for the tag or the WC?

Except the point of this post was that it is directed at the people who always think you should win as quickly as possible rather than farm kills and THEN win.

Your example results in an almost certain loss in a very close game.

My example results in a still very likely, albeit prolonged victory designed to test if people really would win as quickly as possible if they knew that victory was almost guaranteed regardless of what choice they made.

Yours is an example of seeing if people would risk a nearly certain loss to get a protag.

I'd go for the Tag in either scenario, however.

You are obviously misinformed (lol pun). I don't care about how "rare" they are, they just happen when it happens. Besides, how often does the opportunity present itself in an even game? If I'm not in a close but challenging game, I'm bored out of my mind.

I'd get the pro tag and then back up to mid-field to give their team a moment to recover for a chance to stage a comeback. They have more fun since they get another chance, and I enjoy it more fun since it makes for a closer match. It's much more fun than farming their spawn til overtime IMO.

At one time? I've never seen that and I know I've been on 10+ kill streaks. Looked through my pages and not there. Hummmm. Time to actually play instead of trolling the assassins.

Seriously just shotgun taunt infront of an Ice, Lazerblazer and firebase it's hilarious.

But piss is a bitch to get out of a La-Z-Boy!

Oh, and you have to get all 6 kills very rapidly, not like a normal streak. I am not sure on how fast though.

There is kill-streaks which is getting kills in a row with out dying. Then there are muitl-kills where you get back to back 2 kills no more then 2 seconds apart from each other. An All Time Great is a 6 kill multi-kill.

yes, that was my fault. i edited it, but earlier i stated kill streak without specifying multi-kill.

Would you rather win the Heisman or a spring practice 7 on 7 scrimmage? Because that's pretty much the difference between attaining a rare pro tag versus winning one of tons of games.

To you maybe, i care nothing for achievements or tags. Also comparing something insignificant like a freaking tag to the heisman trophy is a bit silly, sorry.

So would i go for the kills? Probably not, but then again, i probably would never have noticed i had the chance to get an all-time-great. I do have at least one of those by the way, i have no idea when i got it and i have no idea if i have achieved more the last month, since, like i said, i don't really care about them.

So, assuming you already have the "All-time Great" tag, then what you are saying is that non-new tag gain > winning.

Now here is where it gets scary. If tag gain, aka in game achievements, are more important than winning, then what happens when people can All-Star? Surely new All-Star rank > non-new tag gain, right? Because of this money gain is now directly tied to a never-ending game achievement (more so than it already is) that is more important than any non-new tag.

    So we've established:

    1) money gain = new All-Star rank
    2) new All-Star rank >= non-new tag gain
    3) your (and many people in this thread's) attitude is that non-new tag gain > winning

therefore soon money gain > winning to many people in this forum.

So why EVER shoot the ball when you can farm kills for money to get the next All-Star opportunity or kill pros for hard to get tags? And why even have moneyballs? Why not just turn this into a Team DM game and call it what it is to many regular players in the community: Slayer?

Honestly, though, this thread is a "polishing the apple" argument to try and argue against the idea that spawn camping is bad. Its interesting, though, because it is showing the true motivations for people playing this game. But its doing nothing to effectively argue for spawncamping.
