Has anyone else tried this out? http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/23/bing- ... s-program/ Basically, if you install the Bing toolbar and use it to do searches, you get "Bing points", which can be used to buy certain things, like MS points. 100 Bing points can buy 100 MS points, and you get 250 Bing points just for installing the toolbar. I've been holding off on making this thread for a few days because I wanted to make sure it was legit. I've earned about 300 MS points in 3 days, so I can confirm that it works. If you don't mind being bought out by M$ for mere pennies, you should give it a shot  Also, tell your stingy friend to buy MNC now that he can essentially get it for a few bucks off!
Wait, I can earn MS points to pay for Xbox stuff by using Bing? I think I'll never have to pay for any MS product ever again! Thanks! *starts writing automated scripts* Arghhh: Well, there goes my get rich quick scheme...
Says it only works with Internet Explorer. That makes me sad. I wont' even use IE for free MS points.
I put my order in for 2 100ms pt cards 2.5 weeks ago, but I still dont have them. I hope its just slow delivery and not some screw up.
I tried this a couple of weeks ago. But couldn't order my points because the site would not let me register a UK postal address. As far as I can make out it's US only.
Yup I heard of this a while ago, I tried to set it up but it's not open to Canadians of course....
It's not that big of a loss. After the initial 250 points for signing up, you can only earn about 10-20 credits a day. Nothing major, but it's still kinda neat. Hmm...it could be a screw up. It took about 24 hours for my order to go through, then they sent me an email with a code to redeem my 100 MS points on the xbl marketplace. 2.5 weeks is way too long.
Honestly, it's not worth it. IE is a slug compared to, what I use, Firefox. I can barley multi-task. I am going to tyr to get to 300 points and then that's it for me.
Just imagine what MS could have done with all the money they spend developing Bing and the advertisements and stuff if they just had used it to improve IE. They probably should have started from scratch with the development though. And I doubt Bing has any chance to get anywhere near the number of users Google has as long as IE is such a slow, clumsy bit of crap. I have to use IE at work for some MS software we use but I really hate working with it. It doesn't even work that well with other MS products, they just removed a lot of functions for browsers like Firefox and Opera.
While trying to earn points I had to turn my audio off. I can not stand all that clicking noise. It's not that hard to earn points, just search for random stuff. I just started typing random sentences or misspelling words on purpose and click on the "Did you mean this" option and I was earning like 2 points every 5 minutes. lol
Hey man, I have 40 M$ points on my account and 300 more M$ points means I can get 4 80 point Indie Games. To me that is worth it alone. Also that picture was great. Thanks.
I haven't used IE in years, and I'm amazed at how slow it is compared to Firefox and Chrome. I've definitely been taking those two browsers for granted. I've been earning my daily points limit on IE then closing it and switching back to Chrome. IE is truly a terrible browser in comparison.
I have gotten 300 MS points already, going to 100 more, then 100 more then I can buy Overlord for ME2 - fully free lol. I love bing - but I won't betray Google
That is by far the best DLC for both ME games. I am a huge huge fan of the Mass Effect universe and the Overlord DLC just added to it.
Lair of the Shadow Broker is much better though Lair of the Shadow Broker and Overlord for ME2 and Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption
Oh wait....geez now I look like I don't know what I am talking about. LotSB is what I really meant. Shoot, I bought every single DLC for both ME games so the names kind of slipped me for a moment.
