PAX East

Well, PAX East 2011 has been announced, tickets on sale, etc. I know Uber had planned on manning (or womanning) the event and I was curious ... how many of you folks will make it out?

My offer for a round of beers still stands.

I'm very tempted to go. I have a $100 discount from the airline I took last time since my return flight was delayed. And a $50 voucher towards a hotel stay from Expedia. But hotel options are a little scarce since they moved it to the convention center next to the airport.

I'll be taking the train down from Portland and staying at hotels within maybe 5 or 10 miles.

I'll probably be there again.

Are you presenting MNC or you just there for the party?

We'll be there with new MNC stuff, tournaments, and merch. Planning the booth now.

Its going to be a huge weekend for me, thats for certain.

I'm meeting (in person) friends I've been gaming with since launch day of Star Wars Galaxies, I'm meeting Uber Ent developers, it's my first Game Convention, plus I'll be meeting people within certain communities that I've come to know from gaming.

As a side note, my wife thinks I'm a geek for being giddy.

I was there for the first PAX East, so I met the team, just not in much context =P

Purchased my ticket, so its official ... I'll be there.

You know what would be AWESOME though? Wearing an Uber Ent. shirt on day #1. But...for that to happen, the store needs to be opened...

The last PAX East was the reason my friends and I got into MNC to begin with! It's an amazing, wonderful, many times touching experience. We're all going again this year too. I have to say, I'm a little envious. Nothing is quite so special as your first PAX.

As for your wife, you should try to talk her into going at least one day. My wife didn't really want to go but came anyways, and she had a blast. Her goal was to get as much free swag as she could get her hands on. Her and a couple of other WAGs made it a game about who could get the most free stuff. Plus, some of the speechs and forums were really fun and interesting. Who knows maybe you'll get lucky and some other jackass might try to commit a federal crime again.

My wife isnt a HUGE gamer, but there are games she has come to like (mostly popcap stuff). however, she may have to work anyway, so itll be a moot point. I have 2 or 3 friends coming with me too, so all-in-all it's going to be a good time. I think I'll be staying in the Westin Waterfront...
