Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but is there a way to kick honor leeches? Guys that don't choose a class the whole match making you 1 person short and they still get round points. For instance, I just had a guy on my team 5 games in a row doing this. I didn't know if we were allowed to report the actual user, so I have not included his name but my hatred has seared it to memory.
It is actually against Xbl ToS to publicly post tags but submitting a player review and possibly filing a complaint is fine. As of right now there is nothing we can do to remove players who do not pick a class from the game. I imagine it will be addressed in the future.
I liked the part of the thread where someone explained the rules. Also yeah its kind of lame but I guess if they arent a bad host thats 50% of what you want in the game anyway. Those are such take it or leave it situations.
I just noticed this as well. Got on this morning, checked the leader boards. To my surprise, I had been passes up for #1 weekly earnings over night by somebody I had not even seen in the top 10 So I fire up some crossfire to reclaim my spot, to yet again be surprised when I see the very person I'm speaking of in the lobby and on my team no less. At the end of the match this person ofc was 0-0-0 and made about 1k I think I carried him through about 3-4 matches b4 splitting just to see wtf he was doing My guess is hes just sitting in spawn afk all night and day Obviously not gonna post his name, but hes rank2 for weekly earnings -cough-
To clear things up, you have to follow Uber's rules on their message board and not XBL ToS...it's actually kind of cute people worried about that on an outside message board. People doing this aren't doing anything against the ToS by idling in games but obviously that isn't going to stop most of you from filing complaints.
It's an honor and fairness thing. If people are doing this, they are gaining money from almost no work and disadvanges the team. Screwing up the team may not be against the ToS but it shouldn't be allowed, and since there isn't any current solution other than complaints it's the only logical conclusion.
I noticed this too. I wasn't sure if it was someone who simply left the game on by accident and went to do something else, or people trying to farm money by doing nothing. I know the game kicks you if you stand still too long, such is the deploy/kick problem that is being fixed, but when people don't choose a class they just stay in spectator the whole time. This is especially annoying when you are down a man every other game due to that person always eating a slot. I imagine that it's going to be addressed though.
You're preaching to the choir..i've been passed on the leaderboards by DoubleAce41 doing this. The leaderboards are fun to look at it but really don't mean anything besides which people have more time to play the game. I think forcing teams to play undermanned is a bigger issue.
I kinda figured it would fall under the "unfair advantage clause" myself. They even seem to (selectively) extend this to boosting, which this is. Beyond that, it looks like an exploit to me. I mean, idle players get kicked, to the point you can get kicked for deploying or merely not moving but aiming (until patched, of course). Maybe the devs have mentioned whether this portion was intentional or not, but in abscence of that, I can't help but think they're exploiting a glitch in a fashion that gives them an unfair advantage (since it boosts them up the leaderboards and it's a way to get cash for things like custom slots (I know at a point this becomes useless, but still). I'm not saying I'd report them. I'm not sure. Haven't been in that situation yet. Just seeing why someone might think this was an offense for which you could report them.
Reporting them is the only way to make them stop. Looks like cheating to me as they're exploiting the leaderboards. Unfortunately as a result of this thread I've seen a few more people doing it. On the one hand it's nice that the host will never leave. But I hate that I'm basically fighting for some jerk while he's not playing.
Sounds like the best course of action. I've run into this as well. Host just leaves the game running 24/7 and leaves the Hotshots always a man down. This is the problem when you create leader boards. There is always someone out there who wants to make their epeen longer. And will cheat/exploit the game to do so.
That might not be the only problem. I can see leaving it running if you know you have host while you eat dinner, for example, so you don't have to go through the annoying process of getting host again a half hour later. Really, they would solve the problem if they make the very same idle timeout that applies once you've picked your class apply to those who haven't yet picked a class. Rather than disincentivize people (which involves guessing at their motives), you make it impossible.
If you are the first person in a lobby, you're the host. If your weapons do nearly twice as much damage as they normally do, you're the host. If you're the host, you'll know.
