The Whole idea is that the mode is a co-op experience... something like the bliz mode but this time you are put on this HUGE football field. One side is a huge door and the other is your money ball What happens is that Bots come out of one side of the field and try to destroy your money ball... but like football since they can move around and try to doge your fire. Minimal turrets too
For legal reasons I doubt you ever see a football field in this game. I was a bit surprised that they got the trademarks for Monday Night Combat. Add a football field and that could bring unwanted NFL attention.
dude... thats somewhat dumb. Just because you put a football field in a game doesn't mean the NFL will pounce on someone. What i'm trying to say is that i'm sure you don't need the NFL licencing to put a football field arena. Also my mode idea doesn't have any changes to the overall controls, you still play like you would in bliz. I'm sure the NFL can't make a case if your shooting at robots, and throwing down air strikes
It doesn't have to be an actuall football field. And I don't know that the current bot programming would allow this. But if the programmers are willing to try this, I'm all for it.
Um sorry to say but I don't see this being any fun nor practical. I don't get the "football" part of it. Is it only the field?
The phrase "Monday Night" and any aspect of American football aren't exactly things that you can copyright. The NFL owns the rights to the the team names, arenas, player names, etc, but they don't actually own the sport of football. EDIT: Also, to clarify for the other posters, I believe the OP's proposition is basically Blitz mode except with only one bot spawn and less turrets, and the bots avoid you rather than walking along a straight path.
But we have guns. I don't need to juke around to kill a bot. I can stand in one place and shoot them.
Who said anything about you needing to "juke around to kill a bot"? Obviously a bot avoiding your fire is going to be harder to kill than one that isn't, which is one aspect that would make this different than other game modes. I don't actually care much for this game type idea, but I find it odd that's the part that you decided to single out and criticize.
Obviously you don't follow football. A "juke" is something a player does to avoid being tackled or taken down. How did you come to the conclusion that I didn't know what a juke was? I know perfectly well what it is. If it helps, I can sum up my point:
This sounds like it could be achieved by just adding new blitz maps? I mean jackblacks will still walk in lines to the money ball, but once you get to the gremlin/bouncer stages, your doomed if you just stand still. Maybe a blitz map that is just like a colosseum. A completely open empty sphere with eight bot spawns that randomise and the turret nubs in a small circle around the moneyball, and then an even wider circle. Maybe even a new turret called the shield turret! That when you place two, within a certain distance between each other, throw up a shield that bots have to either walk around/destroy one of the shield nubs to get past. You could use these online as well, since turret nubs are normally on either side of a lane. Not even pro's could walk through the shield.
