A Zero Punctuation PSA: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... rs-Network The site: http://videogamevotersnetwork.org/ Currently, we have politicians in the states trying to create special exceptions to free speech guarantees to allow them to ban sale of video games to minors. Honestly, I don't see a problem with a law banning video games (though I do find it hypocritical that a kid is not legally banned from an R rated movie), but it's been shot down in several forms as unconstitutional on free speech grounds. A free speech exception really does worry me because it has the potential to go beyond banning children. I'm 30 and I like my toys. Such a free speech exception could allow limits on what we can eventually make, sell, or purchase. Or maybe not, but why take the chance? Even if you don't sign up for the VGVN, do something. support the hobby you evidently love (given that you all play at least MNC if you're reading this). *steps off soap box*
A ban will never happen for one simple reason. Video gaming is the most stable market in the economy. Even when all else fails video games never do.
