Gotta say, I probably have played this game 2-3 times in the past 6 months, but I still read from time to time to get a few laughs in.

Yeah, it's the same people beating the dead horse because they finally got good at the game and now they want to attack and make excuses about players that no longer play the game.

dead gaming communities are very common, especially when they have some competitive merit to them. If they play well in competitive settings, players who like a challenge will stick with it. It's happening right now with Nexuiz and has happened ever since Halo CE came out.

What's great about it is every community has fan's waaaaaaay up in the bleachers who get more enjoyment from watching than playing. You see us as pathetic for talking about a game we play, and we see you as pathetic for wanting to watch us talk about a game you don't even play. To each their own.

Shammas :  So you guys are the best at multiple classes by far, but then your excuse is you guys were playing off class? or better yet barely off class. Should have stomped us every game to be honest with our line up, and no game should have gone to OT. Maybe I'd be more believing if it wasn't such a ragtag group of players I was with. Most laughable thing is how you put your assault up there with the rest of them! Please don't do that

apparently i was at the top of the weekly leaderboards a week ago and now I don't even play  . it must be hard to keeping up with what you say with so many posts of pointless walls of text under your belt.

watching people talk about "competitive merit" in a game where 90% of the tournaments failed, completely abandoned by the devs, no playerbase, and the lack of settings designed for "competitive" play such as....being able to pick a team to be on brings the lols.

please do not let me distract you from continuing your bickering on such super serious topics, carry on

peachy why don't you try and help rather then bring the rest of it down?
For you to come here and still post about it must mean you care somewhat.

MNC being a dead community has absolutely to do with the competitive merit of the title. It entirely has to do with having 4 maps, 1 gametype, and no signs of a future product coming to the console. If Halo CE launched with only Capture the Flag and 4 maps, the game would have been dead in less than a year.

MNC's still a fun game to pick up from time to time. But there's what, only ever 2 active teams? Shammas/Miracle/Chron's team (which has always been #1) vs whoever the 2nd team is. And those aren't even competitive as the #1 team can play off-class just to attempt to even the playing field.

The only chance the game would have at being competitive now, is if you had another draft, and actual kept a "season" going with those teams instead of just a small tournament. Because if this is true:

Then it's basically the NBA All-Star team vs the Charlotte Bobcats every time. So highly competitive.

You played last night taco? So you lied about only playing twice? The post was directed at peachy but I guess you felt it was relevant to you?

Oh sorry I should break down what I meant by competitive merit since you guys get confused. It means it has a competitive potential.. I'm not saying this is MLG's next flagship title or we'll be seeing national tournaments. It means the devs made a game that is balanced and has a decent enough skill gap that allows competitive play to happen easily. A lack of custom options doesn't negate competitive play, or the number of maps. It's about game play... You're still confused huh?

Specifically peachy, since for some reason you're just sooooo confused all the ******* time lol. You don't play privates! Got it? Lol I don't know if you're still try hard juice chaining your way up the leaderboards.

Shstiger, halo ce despite being a flagship game might as well be considered a cult game with a dead community. In my eyes it was a failed competitive game due to how hard it is to find good matches unless you went to a national tournament. Yet people still play because of how much competitive merit it has. You have the ability to carry your shitty teammate if you were really good, and has one of the biggest skill gaps a console shooter can have. In regards to the teams, yeah I keep trying to explain that it's basically a dead community.. That's how they want the teams anyway, their team vs. Whoever else is on. Chron was assault, Shammas on tank, Miracle on gunner, mlg on sniper, knives on assassin, and kckzi on support... Not that off class if you ask me, especially considering who they were playing against.

shadowrun is dead, halo ce is dead, nexuiz is dead, Monday night combat is pretty close to dead as the others.. Yet there is still a small group of competitive players who recognize how balanced, fast paced, and challenging competitive matches can be.

Then there's the forum fan club who aren't interested in anything I mentioned, but get their highest form of entertainment from people they don't know, about things that don't relate or apply to them. I'd say try aging a game, but theres no interest so maybe pick up an instrument, play a sport, or watch some porn. Who knows, maybe you guys might find one of those things to be more interesting than this lmao.. Prob not.

Oh man, no wonder why I was confused! You were talking about potential in an unsupported arcade game that nobody plays!

For reals though, should move onto Ghost Recon. Will have an active community, 6v6 objective matches. Do it.

Why are you advertising for a game not a lot of people on these forums will play?

Because this is a dead game and GR will be a pretty good competitive game that will require a lot of teamwork to be successful at. And that I could see the MNC private community being pretty good at given it's the same team structure (6v6) and all objective-based gametypes.

Just like there was the Brink movement a long time ago, I'm trying to get the GR:FS movement going. The only difference is that GR:FS won't suck. The beta came out about 2 weeks ago and Ubi has already patched it 5-6 times to work on balance issues. They're going to support it fully (hell, they already pushed out a $10mil VIDEO prequel just for advertisement) and it's already looking pretty active on Gamebattles.

What's funny is that if I were to put together a group of players to get least stomped by H&S, I don't think it would include you. I bet the other members would agree.
What's even funnier is that you only say that about my assault because I've only been playing it for a few days and you haven't seen it, yet it's one of the best. Point proven!

One of the best assaults opts to sit back and shoot grenades at supports instead of attempting to get behind them to actually kill them?

Didn't realize you were such a "big picture" guy peachy. You're right only games like COD and Halo can be competitive shooters because they're full supported games. Nexuiz takes no skill since it didn't get it's patch yet and it's an arcade game.

Shammas, go for it man. I'd love to see the roster and how the game turns out. Unless your assault improved big time over the last two weeks, I can't see you as a top assault. Miracle isn't that close to chron and your leagues behind miracle.

SHStiger, I'll look into it a little. Are there any video's of scrims or good matches being played? I used to play the old ghost recon's on xbox and they were fun, but I often lean to games that aren't warfare games.

Of scrims? Not that I know of. It's still the beta version (game drops May 22nd) and there's no private match option in beta.

And they've been making adjustments to game balance every 2-3 days with the most recent being last night, so I'm unsure of any videos that could show off the current game.
