I would like to thank chron for the critique even though i think i played like 4-5 matches with you total. I do feel i'm very good at assault like you said is my strong point and i'm working on my other classes, I just need to work on positioning with gunner and aggressiveness with tank and i feel they could be up dere as well! :p

I guess we're just making all of these public? Okay. Someone should evaluate Chron in return, after evaluating 10-20 people the least we could do is evaluate him back(if he wants it.)

I, as always, appreciated the criticism, Chron. The tank criticism in particular I thought was spot on and something I needed to hear because that was the class I was trying to get better at the most and apparently my time could be better spent elsewhere.

I only claw on Gunner, I've tried to on tank(no way am I going to ever be able to do it as assault.) and this is the first competitive game I have ever played on any console so I learned to claw just for this game. I'd love to claw on tank more but I find the lack of the constant stream of bullets(my aim is okay but not spot on enough for the railgun..) What I find is funny is that I initially really liked this game and primarily played the classes that lack real gun skill(assassin/support) because it was refreshing to play a shooter and really contribute to a team without having an MLG caliber shot.

You know all that though since I pm'd you back about it.

I'd like to try assault more in pm's, I play okay in pubs(but really, who doesn't?) but I have had one decent pm assault match ever and the rest of the time I've ended up being a non-factor.

Sniper is a lost cause. I do not have the patience, the smarts or the connection/shot for that class. I don't want to admit how often I've killed myself with my own flak as a sniper because I cannot figure out how to throw it right. Still, after 2 years. If a PM team ever leaves me sniper to play, I apologize well in advance, it is by far my worst class.

The pm aspect was intended so it wouldn't be awkward for those people since I was being honest. But if they want to publicize them though it's fine. I mean it's at least sparked a thread with some life in it, and more valuable than those "critique me" threads which are just compliments with a touch of "you can do this better"

Since you say it is strong, this is mostly useless crap.

Find a host that likes you - you seemed to be getting some decent head shots on mine.

Know your team - I think that sniper has all the versatility of the assault, just lacking the mobility and has the best matchups next to the assault. Decide whether to either make problems for the other team by backing up one of your stronger players, or bolster your team by backing up some of the weaker ones. Preferably both.

Communication is important, and you communicate very well. As sniper you have one of the best views of the field, and you are a talker so use your assault as an attack dog - sick him on people that are evading your view and ducking behind cover. This works better with people who might appreciate a little direction of course.

Avoid "pub sniper" locations. Depending on who you are going after, you will need different positions. Having been on the receiving end of the sniper\gunner battle you probably know a lot of the ones for taking down gunners. It is just a matter of getting the ones for tanks, assassins, enemy snipers, and switching them up often enough to make the assault work to kill you.

Make the assault work to kill you. Run, dodge, etc. Even if you lose 9/10 fights, making them over extend is extremely useful since many won't do it. Can't help you with some of the ones that will. Don't stay in one place very long so that he is always looking for you even if someone called out your location. Basically, make sure that while he is killing you, the rest of his team is getting beaten by yours so that they are calling out them instead of you. Make the assault feel that he is spread thin.

Push up, but don't always be at the front. Too many snipers hang back near the base where no one can help them out of a bind and enemies are confident in deciding to attack you. Similarly, don't be so far up that you are the first person they see.

Traps 3 > than explosive shot in most cases because it hinders the assaults ability to throw bombs and charge away, making your team have an easier time at life. They are also harder to clear since the slow effect and skill drain are sitll in the area even if they are destroyed.

Silver armor or greater is required to survive a bomb attack.

Learn to snipe through bots - I use bots as a marker for where a body will be at the other end of it, so I am not just shooting at the ground or over a head. I suck at it, but it works when I pull it off.

Here is one that shows my dumbness, but might be useful for you specifically if you don't already know it - for the longest time I did not know that you can hold down the right trigger and keep firing even if you stop scoping. You can quickscope faster if you get the firing rythem down and just releasing\hitting left trigger while keeping the right held down. It is a little easier with silver rate as opposed to gold rate, etc. It helps to eliminate that little delay while zooming in, and increases rate of fire if you are laggy (the delay is in the "start firing" command to the host. This way you send it ahead of time and since the "release fire" event is never sent it assumes you are using your full RoF. Since scoping is handled client side [i.e. the coordinate that you are attempting to hit], the only thing you have worry about is your targets actual location being right but since that is handled host side there is not much you can do about that). Basically, gunner but the triggers are opposite...

    Yeah...about that...

My shots won't 100% hit unless i'm hosting (when I have explosive shots and shoot people, you can see an explosion come off them, but sometimes it does no damage at all).

Also on my host, I can actually headshot people who aren't standing still and sometimes make them ragequit ;)

Thanks for the other tips though =)
