Valid points were made regarding why bunny-hopping needs to be addressed. Just because you use this technique does not validate your reasoning. Latency and bunny-hopping simply do not mix so either the netcode needs to improve or the issue of constant bunny-hopping needs to be adressed; take your pick.

EDIT: Also, a player that bunny-hops =/= more skilled.

    Gotta agree with red

Not my fault you can't aim, no ones fault but your own.

Never once have I said in this thread that I have a hard time killing bunny-hoppers. I am, in fact, a bunny hopper when facing opponents of similar skill.

But, imo, skilled players shouldn't need to abuse the netcode and hit detection by jumping non-stop to get kills on newer players.

Honestly, it seems like you are the one that can't aim and are afraid to face new players without being able to use your bunny-hop crutch. :)

    @boltaktion read the above.

    Um...

    Really?

Ok fine, I'll give a solution.

    Aim better.

I shoot people with my Sniper when they are jumping and do you know what they do? They jump to cover or die. Why? Because I know how to aim.

If jumping is all it takes to kill you, you need to seriously work on your accuracy.

People should first assume that it was a direct lack in their own skill, rather then an OP move.

I kill bunny hoppers all the time. They are extremely annoying and make the game far less fun. Amazingly, these two statements are not mutually exclusive.

I just love these arguments. "If you can't hit a bunny hopper you must not be able to aim.

    Exactly!

Ok, so you can hit a stationary target.

Ok, so you can hit a moving target.

However, you can't hit a jumping target?

That's a direct result of your own skill, or a lack there of. You just need practice. Practice you won't get by complaining. Can you dig it?

When all you have is ad hominem attacks to address an issue, then you go with the ad hominems. It's not that there's an issue. ITS UR FAWLT U SUX LOLOLOL

To be fair, I've been aiming at someone not moving, and because of just a little lag, the hits don't start to register for half a second (which can mean everything in this game). So when you are dealing with bunny hopping and lag, aiming isn't skill as much as luck.

    This.

It always takes more shots to kill a bunny hopper because the hits don't register correctly. And this is even in lag free games. My solution thus far has been to jump constantly when facing a bunny hopper. That way their hits don't register just as much as mine don't. Then its a fair fight and I will usually win the one-on-one.

That doesn't make it any more ridiculous, however.

Unless you are against an auto-locking support, then they don't have to aim.

Of course the ***-hole fix is "get a better internet connection so you don't get lag."

Totally wouldn't be a problem if you learned your role, learned how to aim, and stopped hating on support.

There's Support, and then there's Sub-poor-t. Way too many people abuse Support, that's why it gets the 'overpowered' crown. It's not the weapons, the balance, or the class, just the **** heads who pick up a controller and abuse stuff.

I'll laugh if they nerf air strikes or the Hurt Gun and everyone jumps complaining that all the whining made them nerf it, when really, it will probably be the player's own fault.

Please bear in mind this isn't a direct comment towards you, never played with you before and won't judge, just a general comment on the whole discussion.

This thread could seriously use a lock on it.

Bunny hopping is going to happen and there's not much you can do. Constant jumping is kinda stupid, but I only see people jump rapidly when an assassin is near or to help avoid sniper fire. In both cases it helps them evade the enemy so people do it. In both cases it seems fair that you should have to work to land an attack that will kill your enemy instantly.

By that logic, nothing is ever broken because it all comes down to abuse.

Hit detection/lag needs fixed not jumping

If hit detection/lag is fix, then jumping would become moot. Also just a thought, being hit by solid rounds should knock a jumping target be knocked back.

How does it eliminate two classes?

If you're jumping and I'm a sniper. I'll shoot you in the torso. Funny thing about jumping. If you jump, there's a central point where your body never leaves, so I can still hit you. Does it make headshots harder? Sure. Does it inhibit my ability to shoot you? Not particularly.

Assassin I can see it being more of an issue since their finishing move is grapple. But at that point, it's a matter of distraction. Do something that takes the players attention off of jumping, and you'll have yourself a kill.

It actually does make it harder. Wonky hit detection means center of mass is harder to hit even if you're aiming directly at it.
