It doesn't make them immune to assassin, but it can be frustrating, I'll admit.

Anyway, I can see that bunny hopping would be potentially bad for new players, but the same can be said for many games with more advanced techniques that come with experience. Lost Planet 2 is a great example. So many concepts in that game that aren't explained in-game make it a turn-off for many gamers (particularly those used to Halo or MW2). Advanced manuevers and other things are part of many games. You can't really avoid them.

But like I said, if this becomes game breaking, I'm willing to change.

Problem is that constantly mashing on the jump button isn't advanced. Its tedious at best.

Only really works with rockitts as far as I know. You might be able to reduce the damage you take from laser blasers but I'm not sure, but you can definitely fully dodge rockitts if you time it right and you're not too close.
Can't remember what class I was doing it with but I think it might've been my support with gold movespeed endorsements so we're talking roughly within hurtgun range, further away is obviously easier to dodge though. I don't think it'll work if you just jump, though I didn't try. I was using strafe-jumping :3
It's not easy though so expect to mess up every few jumps and take some damage.

Ease of execution does not make an advanced technique advanced. In Soul Calibur, shaking the control stick is not difficult to pull off, but necessary if you want to win. Bunny-hopping is on the same level as that.

You can grab people as they begin to land you know. I see more and more assassins doing this trick.

Then again I hate to say it but the majority of assassins I see are bloody cheaters.

Yeah, and you can also headshot everyone all the time as a sniper. And you can stick everyone with airstrikes. And you can flapjack everyone. And you can... well you get the point.

Just cuz you can do something doesn't mean it isn't near impossible. Have you even tried to grapple a bunny-hopper as an Assassin? It's hit and miss when they aren't jumping. When they are jumping, its actually near impossible.

I don't understand the apologetics here. I can understand not caring, but why so fervently defend the status quo here?

At least the problem is somewhat solved in the patch when assassins get a 2 second penalty for missing a grapple instead of 6 seconds.

You can fully dodge rocket turrets by jumping?! Which classes can do that?

That puts the value of rock-its way down.

Shave-ice turrets near the moneyball make it much easier to deal with supports that exploit their auto-aim advantage by doing crazy ivan around a downed moneyball.

Uh... it doesn't really devalue rockitts much. The timing to jump the rockets is tricky so it takes a good portion of your concentraton and they still have a fair chunk of health so it takes a while to whittle them down while jumping left and right to dodge the rockets; you're easy prey for any pros while doing this.

Especially if the Tank gets a Piledriver.

When the support picks up bacon he should grow twice as tall and be able to smash the scenery by jumping into it and squish pros by jumping on them.

That way there would be a lot less complaining about the heal/hurt gun.

I don't play support much, but I was thinking about breaking out my Automatic turbo controller. Uninterrupted jump for 15 minutes.... engage!

Not to mention replacing his "Air Strike" with a bouncing ball of fire.

This makes so much sense its actually crazy.

Why cant we grapple if we are both in the air?

Not jet packing in the air, but jumping?

Jet packers can still grapple jet packers tho.
