No matter what I do as assault i always lose unless im vsing kids with down syndrome. With all other classes i go 15 or 20 more kills than deaths..When im gunner i sometimes lose close range to assault, they kill me instantly. When im assault, i die instantly. It takes me literally 5 clips to kill a deployed gunner, if he actually doesnt kill me, mid range. I blow other assaults up with bombs, i charge them, i get the first shot, i always end up losing, its like my gun is about useful as a damn super soaker. If I get the advantage and get 48 clips in before the find me they run away and i get another assist. All these other assaults kill me super fast, i just dont understand. Please, suggestions, tactics, anything. My endorsements are RoF, Accuracy, and reload speed.
mmm tips I like to think of myself as a very decent assault player Ive put up scores like 41-15-3 on maps like ammo mule I'm not boasting I promise! First tip is, assault is one of the best classes for the ammo mule map by far assassin shines on Grenade3 and Sniper AZZRAPEZ Steelpeel Learning to use the maps to a classes advantage is tip number one id give you! here are a few basics for combat 1v1 -You can toss a bomb WHILE firing your weapon, you can also detonate it about 1.5seconds after the toss WHILE STILL FIRING I can't tell you the number of people I've killed by putting about half a clip into them as I'm tossing a bomb (works best when you get the drop on them) Just blow it up as your spraying them for an easy combo kill Even with endorsements to up its damage the assault rifle isn't a powerhouse weapon, use the bomb and charge to supplement you overall damage The endorsement's I use for assault are Gold-accuracy Silver-armor Bronze-rate of fire Ill briefly cover why I use these Accuracy at gold means you no longer ever have to ads/zoom even while flying your hip accuracy is awesome No longer having to zoom to be accurate no matter the distance means you can be extremely mobile while at the same time hitting all your shots, if you have decent aim and when you do zoom, I tend to zoom only vs gunners at close range Every single shot will hit them right between the eyes, you would be surprised at how fast people can drop at close ranges when Every.Single.Bullet.Hits. it's even easy to pick up long range kills against fleeing enemy's (Note that the rifle has a certain drop off point where you do 0 damage even if you hit) silver armor is to help you win gunfights and survive most grapples Bronze rate of fire to give your guns a boost They key to playing assault well is to be moving constantly Abuse that jet pack! I always upgrade to level 2 jet pack early and use it in combination with charge to clear large gaps like the center of steel peel or fly from the upper platform near the enemy base jump pad to the sniper ledge on grenade3 use charge for its mobility! I rarely use charge as an attack, not that I don't but most of the time I avoid getting that close if I can help it, As such I never upgrade charge to level 3 Honestly its a double edged sword Sure, it will net you some easy kills now and then if you have the grapple But by the same token, you can no longer charge through enemy bots (Something that is very useful in my opinion) The animation is fairly long and if you do hit an enemy bot, or even pro you are completely vulnerable which will get you killed just as much as you get kills with it! Level 2 charge does plenty of damage anyways, redlining most classes for an easy rifle kill or flat out killing assassins and snipers with no armor/slightly damaged health I use the charge a lot of times to escape, or as a "dodge" Combined with the jet pack and never having to ads you can easily avoid enemy gunfire completely while firing right back, more often then not more accurately Starting a match I always upgrade passive and charge right off, then max bomb The bomb is an amazing tool! Be creative and learn the best places to set them up for easy kills Tossing them on the annihilator pad or at the top of jump pads can net you some easy and funny kills Passive3 is ok and Ill pick it up if i have the spare cash sometimes but it doesnt seem to be much of a boost imo The grenade launcher! Ive seen a lot of assaults using the rifle against turrets and bots Don't forget you have a flippin grenade launcher! you can shoot around corners, you can clear bots and turrets! and you can even kill people from across the map! Ok so I hope some of this helps you! I think I have rambled on long enough
Been trying to get my groove on as Assault lately. He's meant to be a Pro hunter as his abilities don't exactly help him destroy bots as fast as other Pros. As such he's well off against every class. His strongest point is probably his mobility is second to only the Assassin, and in some cases he's better at it than she is. He may not do tons of damage with his guns alone, but his skills working together can clear out other pros when used as a combo. Taking the skies with flight, raining down gunfire with a bomb, and a charge to either finish or get out fast. He's great for taking on Tanks and Gunners in their own domain since they're such big targets for his assault rifle, and nimble enough to stay away from the tank and get out of the Gunner's sites. He's a harder target for Snipers to pin since he can detonate their traps or fly over them, Assassins will have problems if you stay in the air most of the time, and you can grenade and bomb Support's fire bases. Unless you're being kredit to team, you only ever need to use vertical jump pads, so unless your buddies are out of money, don't waste them on horizontal pads. Flight with an Air Charge is great for getting around normally and crossing gaps where bad guys can't get to you. I typically roll with Ammo Mule, Accuracy, and either ROF, Health Regen, or Skill Recovery. Reload times for the Assault is hardly a problem, but always being able to maintain fire on the enemy means that your pressure never lets up. I think Accuracy could be better used for gold with some people, but I'm trigger happy. More grenades is always good to spam distant targets, like immobile snipers or turrets. When I stick to the air I'm not always looking for kills but to distract Pros from killing my bots or have them take cover where you can trap them. ROF as gold though doesn't do much better than a silver endorsement.
well i do pretty well with and assault, its all about rushing in and getting close to som1 to do good damage with ur gun not just charge whore everything like nabs do. one thing i notices is ur endorsements, try out RoF Crit then accuracy. i choose crit shots because with ur gray skill giving u crit shot + it being on ur silver endorsement u can paint a picture with ur purple bullets.
See. I dont really get it either. When I play assault hes good and easy to play but I still die pretty easy even with armour 3. When some guys use him. Their assault rifle cuts through you literally in 3 bullets and can survive for years through being shot. I have no clue how, the only thing I can think of is they stack RoF, crit and accuracy AND have insanely bad registrations (it always seems to be the assaults who are worse for it)
As the second poster pointed out Gold rof isn't worth it for the AR Gold only gives a tiny boost over silver Ive used crit in gold instead of accuracy Ive tried playing with no armor and just gun endorsements The setup I posted above is my favorite of them all though Even with gold crit or silver rof the AR just doesn't pack a big punch like you want it to Note that crit in gold does give a nice boost, but I find that having all my shots hit and not having to ads is much more useful then a slight and randomly generated damage increase
If you're doing badly with any class take this approach: 1) Adjust Play style (obvious, I know) 2) Play with Endorsements, they're obviously not working for you 3) Stick to using it on certain maps rather than forcing it As a general rule, forcing anything is bad. If you take a look at Assault and choose endorsements you think will work and then force yourself to use them, you probably wont do very well; one of the best features of the game is the customisation so get some play time as the class and find out what you always feel yourself 'needing', and then base it on that. Also, as in point 3, if you're trying to learn a class I wouldnt force it in every situation until you're really comfortable, sometimes it really is just better to play your main. Finally, point 1, what the others have said here is good. Use your speed and your skills to your advantage. Gunner should be very easy to take out as Assault, Assassin too if you play smart and keep your ears peeled. Tanks are harder because they can charge too, but if you nibble at them and then retreat/repeat you can beat someone of equal skill to you fairly easy (Dont get too close!). Lastly, Snipers, they're best taken out with the Grenade Launcher, get some experience with that thing because it's really worth it. If you can master the Launcher and Bomb (Assault Rifle doesn't really take much brains to figure out) then you have yourself a very strong class for all-purpose activity, just like it was 'designed for'.
Magic, i swear. Ever since these posts im destroying like they destroyed me. I just got my first uber streak and went 28-0, other games i went 17-2, 18-1, etc. thanks a bunch guys, think i got my new fav class! My last uber streak i almost got i was on a 24 streak and got grappled by an assassin as gunner
Well i usually go with RoF gold, Crit silver, accuracy bronze. I tried Accuracy gold, but honestly i don't hit hard enough, even though all the shots hit, not nearly enough damage to be any good. RoF gold destroys them in seconds. I just did Crit gold, RoF silver, Accuracy bronze, got 42-10-2 lol
All I play is Assault. Go with Gold - Crit Silver - Rof Bronze - Special Your gun does pack a punch. both of them. and with a faster firing crit damage gun, you can kill almost twice as fast. If you ever get the 3rd lvl passive then you can easily take down any pro fast with your Assault Rifle....Even Gunners at close-medium range. I do it all the time. If you use your jet pack, jump around, and use charge to evade pros, then you won't really need the armor upgrades..... With these settings you can deal a ton of damage and still have your specials recharge fast enough to help you gain an advantage in a pro vs pro fight. You can take out whole groups of bots with your grenade launcher with even lvl 2 passive upgrade. I love playing as Assault, there is never a situation that I feel I'm out classes in or not prepared for. I feel most people are just not playing the Assault class properly. The best thing to do is push a lane and kill some bots and try to stay near middle and rack up some cash. Get to lvl 2 passive asap. Up grade turrets in your base before you get all lvl 2 upgrades. You get cash for turret kills, so you can gain money faster and upgrade your skills faster while still being able to protect your money ball. I found building a long shot helps get you assists and quick cash. Switch Lanes to see where your team has an advantage and help out on opposite site. If you play properly, you can hold a lane by yourself, unless you come across 3 skilled pros. The last 20 games I've played I've either been 1st or 2nd on my team in total money earned. Most of the time like 12-16-10 is about average. While I die a bit, I'm holding up and distracting the other team long enough for my team to push other side or respawn and come and help me out. Try and stick with another player. You will easily help take out another pro and you can help push a lane. 2 is always better than 1.

As assault, you should always keep moving. Basically you should use Armor/RoF/Accuracy or Armor/Accuracy/Skill. Gold armor will let you survive a lot more than without it. The assault should use a combination of his assault rifle, charge, and bomb as combos to take down an opponent. Learning to use your bomb is key. The bomb adds to your mobility because of the bomb jump, but it also is great for ringing out enemies, taking down no-armor assassins and snipers, and clearing out a corner to make sure it is safe to go. When fighting another assault, the charge and bomb change the battle. Whoever bombs the other first will usually win.
This might not be very helpful, but this one thing helped my Assault go from useless to decent: Bomb + AR.
BoltAktion, I know this is kinda off topic, but G3 is HORRIBLE for an assassin. You can only push 1 bot lane instead of 2.
My answer will be simple... Grow a servere case of ADHD, or drink way too much coffee with 5-hour-energy as the creamer and plenty of sugar.... and then bunnyhop and blindside enemies like crazy, while hitting with bomb-charge-spray combos, and while hopping around like crazy still retain perfect assault rifle accuracy. Basically, you are standing still to fire too much and that makes you an easy target, and if you are jumping around you are missing a lot so you have to use so many clips for kills. For starters, please do try to use your mobility to pick weak targets and targets from behind. Then, try to do as much damage with bomb and charge before engaging in gunfight also. Then, try to ease off of secondary-fire-aiming at any targets but stationary ones or ones with low health running away, and use bunnyhop spray on EVERY other opponent (while getting better at aiming while hopping around like a lunatic).
