Fact: Following up any statement with "fact" makes it instantly a fact.

    Fact.

We are looking into preventing hackers from ruining the game experience.

I assure everyone, it's a lot harder than it seems.

I think you meant to write "facts." Which is completely true. You have told me the "facts."

Also, I don't think you know what spam means.

I could care less about the leaderboard hackers.

What gets me is when a support runs into our base in the beginning of the match, wrecks all of the turrets rank 2-3 plus all of the players and continues to farm them until the moneyball shields are down. I seriously was in a match where the support got almost 30 kills and had 0 deaths in a 3 minute match or so. Rest of his team had absolutely nothing, aside from a kill here and there maybe.

Then there are the rank 99 snipers that get headshots on EVERYONE and never die, no matter what. You even see a pixel of them on the screen and you're already dead. Irritates the hell out of me.

Unless they kill every single member of your team at once and can do it again within 15 seconds multiple times, I call BS.

Your probably talking about a hack rush, which can be countered if you have a decent team.

Nope. It's happened to me about 2 times. I've had one other instance where the same thing happened with a sniper and the SMG. He rushed our base with the rifle, headshotting everything that moved. Ubered as soon as he got to our base, switched to SMG and killed every turret within seconds, our moneyballs shield were down shortly afterwards and he was left with over 20 kills and no deaths. Granted, he did have one other sniper to back him up but he had no supports to heal/overheal him and everyone else on his team was assassins. Snipers don't just rush bases and instantly demolish everything without dying. Assassins have the possibility due to how fast they are if they are ubered, but they will still die nonetheless.

Call BS all you like, but I had people on my friends list playing at the same time that ragequit with me :p

Anyways, I'm not saying just because it was a great game for their part that everyone that is good are "hackers", I've met legitimately good teams that wrecked our asses in no time, but you can TELL when they are playing legit. When your base is rushed by 2x support, tank and a gunner and wreck you, that's legit. When a one man army comes in, no. I refuse to believe there is even the slightest possibility. I mean, I'm not great at the game, but I can manage to single-handedly stop a rush sometimes, so I'm not bad either.

Want to stop it? Do away with leaderboards.... really whats the point? show your friends how uber you are? yep thats what hackers want.... 2nd make it so people can be kicked...if such and such is hacking allow players to vote kick them....gurantee you it wont happen for long.....Just my thoughts, but leaderboards and leaderboard achievements need to go from all games. I play to have fun, if I want to be competitive I will enter ladders or tournaments.

Thanks Scathis! I'm glad you guys are working on this kind of stuff and trying to make our gameplay experiences better!

I've never personally experienced in-game hackers myself, but from what I've heard, it's UBER annoying. cwutididthar? :3

Anyways, when a hackers account is banned, they are NOT removed from the leaderboards. They have a permanent imprint on the game and therefore, they're record stays. So... Leaderboard hackers really mean nothing and banning them just stops them from using THAT account, and creating MORE accounts to clog up the leaderboards.

Yeah, but end the end they will need to make a new account, make it gold, and re-buy the game. If a hacker is so desperate to have his name at the top of the leaderboards to say "hey guys check it out, i am teh leet uberz!", then whatever.

Of course there is the chances that microsoft bans people for the wrong reasons, like living in Fort Gay.

I file a complaint on every hacker/modder I come across. Does this actually do anything/go anywhere? Can Microsoft even tell if someone is glitching out MNC if I point a finger at them?

A couple of the GTs I've reported have gone bye-bye. I don't know how effective it is for glitchers, but outright hax seems to sort of work. Until they set up a new account, I guess.

Or they can continue doing what they've been doing for a long time. Making free Gold accounts and downloading pirated versions of the game for use on their jtags. So...

Alas, hacking isn't uncommon. Really, all kinds of games with online leaderboards can get hacked easily, not just Microsoft or PC games (for example, PS3 leaderboards of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Challenge map done in 13 seconds with all three milestones? Yeah, right. :x ) I sympathize more with the game developers than I do with the affected players (not to say that I don't sympathize with them at all) because the developers have a real uphill battle here. There aren't as many of them as there are people who spend their time and energy finding ways to hack games. Not only that, but Microsoft "banning" people doesn't solve anything. The problem is that modem's IP addresses can be reset. Banning IP's doesn't work. I think one of my friends (who was previously a hacker but now works in the government to combat hack attempts) put it best: "for every developer counteracting hacks, there are at least ten hackers working on counteracting the developer." And all the while, people are demanding, "Fix it!" and "Don't you guys care?" We've gotta be a bit more understanding with their predicament.

Though I agree there are some things that can be worked on, you guys gotta understand:There will always be insecure morons who finish last everywhere else in their lives who want to be number 1 so much that they're willing to spend tons of their time and money to figure out how to hack a game.

Fine, you hackers go ahead and do that. I've got a job, a girlfriend, and a life. Can you say the same?

Which is why we keep saying ban accounts :) The idea being they'd then have repurchase game(xbla only wouldn't help retail discs), of course that would only work if they checked that an account owned a game before connecting them to matchmaking for said game which Myrick is implying they don't do....
