The simplest solution if you don't like overtime is to win in regulation.

I think overtime is usually pretty fun, with jackbots spawning like crazy and the general mayhem with everybody fully endorsed and juicing. If you don't like it, consider it an incentive for winning on time.

That said, the best change to make would be to put a barrier for the opposing team that prevents them from just jumping over to the catwalk above the moneyball. You're able to go "over the top" and bypass any turrets and bots on all the maps except Grenade iii. Then you could have all the fun parts of overtime, without people just ignoring bots/turrets to go straight to the moneyball.

I concur that disabling juice dispensers for OT would reduce the "random" feel of OT.

I also concur that given the constant stream of JackBots AND the stats boost that all players receive during OT, there is no need to drop the shields on the MoneyBall. A naked moneyball means that the focus is on a single player getting in and doing something quickly, rather than a concerted push by the whole team to get their bots into the other base.

I am tempted to say that it would be nice for levels with an "upper ring" to have a few turret nubs on that ring, given that turrets on the ground floor seem to have a hard time noticing pros 1 floor up. The counterargument is that knowing this, teams should assign a pro or two to play defense on the second floor, especially during OT.

How about: Only 1 bot Lane remains open, all others close / Shields dont drop.

This forces both teams to push up one lane in an epic battle to the end for the 2 minutes helping bots by killing each other and each other's bots. If shields didnt drop and both teams went seperate ways then there would be no 'epicness' to it at the end.

It would allow teams to build up only a single side of their base as the turrets on the opposite side would be wasted. The answer for OT is quite difficult but since most of us are not complaining about the previous 15 minutes that lead to OT then why change those rules? Jackbot XL spawning and all gold endorsements for players seem to be enough to allow one team to win under the normal rules. I still think that purchasing juice should have a cooldown or limit however.

you guys are making this WAAAY more complicated than it needs to be. OVERTIME SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN IN THE CASE OF A TIE. Thats it. Sorry for the caps but you guys are really getting out of hand with these "solutions"

What's to stop them from buying it just before overtime hits?

I agree with Hiero Glyph, the Juice Dispenser should have a cooldown just like the other hazards.

    [Edit]
That would likely result in both teams turtling up and bot farming until overtime hits. Or one team Juice rushing at the very beginning to do a fair amount of damage then turtle the remainder on the game.

I actually made an account initially to address this issue after my team took out the money ball to literally 5% health and our shields were never breached and yet the other team one in overtime. This is by far the best suggestion I've seen on the forums.

So the devs don't miss this, we are having a large discussion on this in one of the other forums.

    viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2095

I'm of the opinion that the way OT is encourages teams to ignore the tower defense aspects of the game.

I support the idea proposed in this thread. OT only if there's a tie and extend the round by a little.

That said, if the primary issue is juice, you could always make it so juice has a cooldown, much like the bot spawn so it can't be spammed as much. At the same time, why penalize teams who manage their money well? If I have two good supports and they're building turrets, then I am going to save my money for juicing up to hit the moneyball the second the shield goes down.

I personally think that there shouldn't be Overtime at all. I also think that buying Juice at all is kind of a cheap thrill. It makes a certain part of the game less rewarding ( in my opinion, playing the right way ) I would rather get my juice from defeating other pros/bots instead of just buying it because I bought a turret in the right spot for this game to get me side money.

If there was to be Overtime I think that dropping the ball was an ill idea due to the Juice rushing that has been said already. Instead, keep the Moneyball up with shields, keep the Jackbot rushing both sides, if you have to have the Juice dispensers than make it a lot of money, $1000 is okay, but I think upping it to at least $1500 or $2000 would be ideal. Instead, this would force pros to spawn their unique bots ( Gremlins, Gapshots, Scramblers ( Say wut? ), Bouncers, Buzzers ) this would all support the lane pushing since then you have all of these extra bots pushing lines WITH Jackbots.

About the second story issue I would LOVE for their to be an ejector for the second story. This would solve that issue really quick... I hate Assault and Assassins who just camp up their to spawn kill.

However Uber decides to resolve the OT issue of juice-rushing, I am looking forwards to it.

The sheer number of people complaining about this issue would indicate to me that Uber needs to address the issue as a top priority.

In the meantime, this is one of the reasons my gaming group has decided to take a break from MNC and play other things. We'll be back to check out MNC (we love the concept) once the patch drops.

I hope the OT juice-rush is something Uber addresses in the first patch.

You wouldn't like to be rewarded for putting a turret in a key spot?

Whenever I play Support I feel it is nearly mandatory for this game but for other classes I feel it is just a +1. What I was meaning was instead of just turtling the whole time and racking up money without really contributing to playing the game the way I feel it should be played. But that is it, my opinion on how I would ( and do ) play the game. I rarely buy juice because I would rather have the sense of accomplishment when I get it from killing bots/pros/turrets or healing/over healing. Then I can go on a rampage and enjoy the pounding from steam rolling one lane of bots/pros/turrets. Meh, it's just me.
