ROFLMAO @ Assassin

While playing a round of Crossfire this morning, I had a kid on my team who sounded like he was in early teens....he was playing as Assassin, finished the round 5-0-17 and spent the entire round complaining about each person who killed him, stating that they were "hacking" and that he was going to report them for cheating.. Of course he was the ONLY person on my team with a mic.

*sigh*

It's people like him... AND you... that keep giving the Assassin the bad name it has. Instead of 'ROFLMAO'ing @ the Assassin, you should be doing it @ the kid who was playing as the Assassin. So at least change the topic name... :roll:

Not really...but still I've heard quite a few squeaky voices on this game and I can hardly imagine any of them doing "good".

I remember playing against an Assassin and I was a tank. The Assassin would run straight at me cloaked and I was able to see the wobble. Of course I would Death Blossom setting him on fire thus exposing him to me.

Turns out it was a "squeaky voiced" kid and he said I was hacking because I was able to see him in cloaked. He then claimed he was in the top of the leaderboards and that it is impossible to see a cloaked Assassin. lmao

If I could remember his name, I would have singled him out. I said nothing derogatory about the Assassin class...in fact I envy those who can utilize it well, because I cannot. I am doing nothing to give the assassin a bad name, players like the one I mentioned are doing just fine by themselves. I am going to assume you play an assassin and are taking it personally, it is not my problem if something about my post struck a personal chord.

I "apologize" to all ?skilled" assassins who actually have a positive k/d...I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings.

Veruca...at what point did I say anything against Assassins to give them a bad name, other than the fact that this tool sucked and blamed imaginary game "hacks" for his death.

WTF does a positive K/D Ratio have to do with this game, let alone a skilled assassin? I play mainly Assassin, RARELY another class, and in a good percent of the games i play i usually don't have the best k/d spread, but i usually have MVP, that is when the game doesn't go into overtime and our money ball starts getting demolished by juiced up snipers and gunners from a mile away. I hate how you have to be on the "winning" team to be MVP >_>
anyways, a "skilled" assassin is the one who Destroys turrets, deployed gunners, and deployed tanks, one who pushs the lanes, the one who takes down jack bots, and takes out the pro's that they can.
you know how hard it is to survive as an Assassin? especially with the paper thin armor, loud cloak noise, stuck fire/ice/daze etc effects, and all the lag related issues that have a more noticeable effect on us then other classes?

Well, the title you have chosen for the topic is directed at Assassins (and yes, I prefer to play as an Assassin, but I will play any class that best suits the team I'm in). Now if you would change the title to something like 'ROFLMAO @ whiny kid' (or something along the line of that), you'd be closer to describing what the tread is really about. And I have to agree, you said nothing wrong about the Assassin in general. I'm just getting tired of seeing all these 'Assassin this... ' and 'Assassin that...' topics. But like you said, that's just me.

You do have to admit that most Assassins are completely terrible and because it has the gimmick of being "cool" lots of new players start out with it including me. It all depends on how good of a gamer the person is that determines how fast thy can adjust to the play style and mind set of a skilled Assassin. Sadly most simply run after a single target completely unaware of the surroundings and die instantly after possibly getting a kill. We must light the way for our young apprentices and guide them along the true path of the jedi...um Assassin.

The sad truth is that the Assassin has more exploits than any other class. I have encountered more Assassins that cheat than any other class. For the most part the average Assassin is a horrible player that is only playing the class to cheat or for the 'cool' factor. The really good Assassins are few and far between. When you consider all of these things there is good reason to laugh at most Assassins.

Assassins are invincible. If you're beating my Assassin, you must be hacking the game.

Alot of people choose the Assassin, most of them are not so goo with the assassin. But there is also people who are pretty skilled with the assassin, not careing for there K/D but doing other things like Killing there turrets, Pushing our bots to there side, Stuff that other people don't do since there busy killing each other, etc.

I've played against him. He claimed he wasn't trying.

I have a 2.4 K/D ratio, with +80 bot kills a match and +10 turret kills a match, i fight every jackbot i see and every bot i see. And clear lanes all the time. And practically always MVP, K/D ratio does in fact matter in you don't want to give the other team money, which happens when they kill you. Having a good K/D ratio on top of pushing lanes, killing bots, turrets, etc is essential i think because your gaining money while keeping the other team from gathering up money.

But he has a great point. Lots of players play sniper and finish 30-2 with $3000 wile I go 17-13 with $5000 and a win. Your overall k/d shows skill to a certain extent I guess, but in the end it's all about the win. My k/d is still around 2.9, but I pride myself on winning and will gladly run in and die to keep the ball down.

My party and I were wondering about the K/D ratio tonight. What's considered "good" for this game? Especially for Assassin's who, ironically are their most helpful when they are doing other things besidesd assassinating?

Personally, mine's .732, but so long as my team wins, I don't really care.

Mines around 2.7, but it doesn't matter as long as you're not dieing too much and doing your job as an assassin such as clearing lanes.

Just get over 1. Never.. NEVER have more deaths than your kills.. thats just, not good at all. Its extremely easy to get 1 K/D ratio without even trying. Even if you are killing bots.

Mine sits at 2.6 and working my way up.

It's kind of funny how people flock to the assassin because she plays differently and yet they fail to grasp an effectively play style with her because they don't realize just how differently they have to play.

It's like jumping onto MW2's objective gametypes and actually, holy ****, playing for the objective.

One note, the title of the thread can easily be interpreted as inflammatory to people who play assassin and take a certain amount of pride in their gameplay.

Second note, my ratio is 1.5 so far as a lvl62. Meaningless, I know, but a certain measure of how long I've played at least.

I find playing as the Assassin to be frustrating. In my opinion, the biggest issue is that you have to practically be touching someone in order to grapple them. Maybe give a bit of lunge to it, or if you're close enough and aiming at them it automatically triggers a revised cutscene where you lunge at them. I'm not asking for Commando Pro, I'm just saying that it's been relatively inconsistent and unpredictable for me.

Yes, I know you can lunge and mash the grapple button, but that's even more strange. I'll run up behind a support character that's just walking along, run in, lunge and mash, but only half of the time it will actually work. To this day I'm still not completely sure whether grappling cancels the lunge, but that would be nice. I always have to wait for the animation to finish, but there are some occasions where the framerate slows enough for it to appear to cancel.

Overall, while the assassin class is cool, they just feel awkward. Playing as an assassin marks the only times I ever see noticeable game lag when I attack, save those occasional incidents where the host's Walmart connection drops the framerate to 1 FPS.

I just feel like there's stuff to be done to make it more powerful.
