I'm asking this because I see a lot of people focus on the Assault Rifle while I focus on the skills.

    My custom class:
    1. Speed
    2. Skill Recovery
    3. Armor

I often use a combination of charges, bombs, and sometimes my Assault Rifle to kill opponents. With this setup, my only real counter is another assault.

I had 27 kills and 10 deaths my last match, and I destroyed most of or all of the enemy moneyball myself. (I'll admit that it was in OT.)

    gold- Skill Recovery
    silver-Armor
    bronze-Health Recovery

upgrade Charge to level 3 first

and then play it by ear, if we need turrets I build them, if we need pushers I'll upgrade bomb to level 3, then passive to level 2-3.

If I'm playing defense, I'll only upgrade Charge to 3 and make turrets and spawn buzzers

    Critical
    RoF
    Accuracy

I upgrade Passive, and then charge, and then bomb.
Using gold crit with lvl 3 passive gives you an amazing number of critical hits, you mow through everyone with the AR. You can switch Armor for RoF or accuracy I suppose, whatever floats your boat.

Best mix between Lane Pusher and Pro Killer.

Spend equal time killing bots as Pros, mostly with the Assault Rifle. AR is really one of the best guns in the game. Yeah, Gunner is like Assault but with everything 'heavier', but Assault's Skills and speed is preferable to me.

I use Critical Shot (great to boost your Class' passive Skill)
I use Accuracy (Assault Rifle+ is Win!)
I used to use Rate of Fire but now I use Skill Recovery (Bomb/Charge/Fly, can't go wrong)

With Assault I just use him to tie enemy up.

    Gold - Skills
    Silver - Armour
    Bronze - Health Regen.

With the bomb regening so fast you can be really annoying with cutting off routes that enemies wish to use, I always end up with more assists than kills like this but if I really wanted to kill someone I would be using the gunner anyway.

He was my first class I 'got', and I guess technically if I was playing competitively I would go ROF, Armour, Skill regen I still enjoy the above class more just for the sheer annoyingness of it, I can stay alive not really doing much except pissing you off and keeping you in one spot for a very bloody long time and if you make a mistake I can capitalize on it as well, getting five ring outs in a row with the bomb near one jump pad is also Lol.

I play with gold armour, silver accuracy or skill (depending on map) and bronze rate of fire. These aren't final, as I'm constraly trying new builds, but so far these have proven to be quite effective.

I usually place near the top of each game, unless there is a good assasin or sniper following me around.

What I really like to do is hide near the edge of a map, place a mine against the wall opposite the edge, and lure enemies towards me, so that when I detonate the mine, they go flying over the edge.

Most intelligent players realise what I'm doing quite soon, but I usually get about 4 easy kills out of it. So then I just run around for a bit, mostly using my AR and charge for kills.

The armour helps out majorly against assasins, as they can only kill me with a fully upgrade back grapple. If they don't kill me, a quick charge usually kills them. If I get the first strike, I usually kill them or they run off.

At a medium range, I can usually outgun a gunner if I aim well. If not, running around a corner and throwing a mine or charging will finish them off. I employ a similar strategy against tanks.

Supports are quite simple, just keep out of range of their guns, and move around a bit so they can't tag me with a bomb.

Snipers are my biggest trouble, but flanking them usually works, and in rare occaisions, running almost straight at them also works, using the higher jump and the fly ability to glide over mines. Otherwise, I just move to a different area, as there's usually only one decent sniper on a team.

Other assaults can be quite difficult, but usually they don't have the gold armour, so I tend to kill them by attrition. Otherwise, being quick with a mine, strafing to avoid charges, and using my own charge at the perfect time will usually net me a win.

    The following works for me

    Gold - Speed
    Silver - RoF
    Bronze - Clip size

Its important for me to have good freedom of movement as an Assault and Gold speed really does the trick, especially against Assassins (which like to pick on Assaults, or so I've noticed), Gunners and Tanks.

I don't think extra health/armor matters if you are an Assault with extra speed as you can get away from things fairly easily (turn around, jump, charge, jetpack - turn back while in the air and shoot).

I play defensively while building up my skills, running around the base dropping bombs on bots and keeping other pro's away. I usually drop a bomb where the Money Ball is because as soon as I see the MB's health bar flashing red I detonate because 9 times out of 10 its an Assassin - they usually die straight away.

Once I have the remote bomb or charge at lvl. 3 I try to play offensively, running with the bots and taking out pro's.

That's how I play anyway, and if I don't get many kills (under 10) I'm getting a lot of assists.
