First off, I love the concept of overtime in this game. While any other competition goes to overtime only if regulation ended in a tie, I dont think that should be the case in MNC. I think that as long as a game is undecided, it should go into OT. The problem is that a team that has been dominating the whole game can lose 15 seconds into OT because 2 assassins bought juice and went to town on their money ball. I have a few ideas to solve this problem. We can still have the fun of OT without the frustration of the wrong team winning it. 1. Slowly Lowering Money Ball (Like the New Years Ball) a. Instead of both money balls dropping as soon as OT hits, they will slowly lower b. The balls drop rate will be dependant on how damaged the ball was in regulation time c. This gives incentive to actually play the game as it was intended during regulation. Escort the bots and hurt the ball. 2. No Buying Juice in OT a. The problem is that people keep buying juicewhat better way to stop them? b. You could just up the % that your juice bar goes up I honestly think that both of these could really make OT what it is supposed to be. I dont know if they would both work together, but at least one of them could make a difference.
no disrespect but i think ot was meant so that people who were losing could have a chance to win and that if people buy juice u have to stop them
If you are losing, you still have a chance to win with both of those scenarios. and of course you have to stop them. The only way to do so is to save up and buy juice yourself. If you have read anything on these boards, the general concensus is that people don't want to win this way. I have won many games by killing someone trying to buy juice. Buying it myself and then attacking their ball. It's not a fun way to win, and I don't believe it's how uber wants it to be.
There are already a few threads about this, why not post in one of those instead of starting another one. Is your post that much more important than everyone else's ideas? Seriously, this is blatant spam and should be deleted/merged with one of the other more active topics.
We tried something similar to this in development but found that the best way to play was to get the enemy moneyball down to slightly less than yours, then sit in your base and stand around picking off the people as they came in. May sound like fun but it took a game with a lot of action and made it limp towards the finale. I decided it was better to go in a more chaotic and fast paced action way. That said, we are looking at things we can do to mitigate the quick juice finishes.
1. Not be able to buy juice in over time. 2. When over time hits, everyone gets a money boost. (would help upgrade turrets/skills and catch up)
If the game would only go into Overtime when both Moneyballs have the exact same % of health left, then I wouldn't mind the Juice in Overtime.
But that doesn't happen most games, and then you open up a whole new can of worms. People rush a base, do a little damage to the ball, and then camp the rest of the game til time runs out.
Any game that has OT is DESIGNED to allow either team to win. Else, the team that "did the best" before time runs out allows wins.
Well, if they're camping then it's on you to make an effort as a team to break through it. If, on the other hand, they Juice rush during OT... there's nothing else for you to do than Juice rush yourself.
why shouldnt u be able to buy juice. sounds like those two reasons are just cause u get face rofled in OT from people that save money for the juice in OT. not like u cant do it either to balance urself against another juiced player
What if buying juice in OT were to become an accepted strategy but teams post a look out at the juice boxes to prevent enemies from buying juice? Well, certainly defense gets stretched thin, between the base, people attacking, and someone defending the juice boxes... Oh God, I dunno. Why do I even bother...
Thanks for the well thought out comment... That was almost as good as the flamer from earlier. I often have 2k+ by OT cause I see no point in investing in anything else besides my own skills and the occasional turrets. Guess what that means... I always buy juice in OT, and most of the time my teams wins since I am often in a party. I'm not complaining about getting pwnd in OT. I am simply trying to think of ideas to help the problem that seems to keep recurring. One sided games ending the wrong way 12 seconds into OT.
