Tank's Death Blossom, Damage based on Ammo?

    Hi I was watching MNC Tips on the XBL console, and they mention briefly that the Tanks Death Blossom will OHK Assassins IF his ammo is full. So it got me wondering, does he do damage biased on the Ammo count in it? Also since I got you here, do Railgun Headshots do extra damage?

    I tested a couple days ago, and no, it doesn't matter whether you have 1 ammo or full.

    It does actually. The percentage of ammo left in your clip will reduce the damage done by the Tank's Death Blossom.

    You will not notice the difference with bots, but you may with players.

    I tested it splitscreen against myself (tank vs tank). There was no noticeable difference between a death blossom at full ammo and at 1 ammo

    So grabbing a Gold Clip wouldn't increase the damage?

    Personally I haven't noticed much a damage reduction from it, and generally do it before a reload...but I usually fire a bit first, so I think I'll try with a full Clip to see if the damage changes.

    This is wrong, it makes no difference with players. Full ammo leaves a no-armor endorsement assassin just barely alive if nothing else hits them. One ammo left does the same. It may be intended to work a you described way, but it certainly isn't. Easily tested by having a tank 1v1 an assassin on the same console in a private match.

    Also of note, death blossom doesn't OHK assassins (comes extremely close), but if they get hit by anything else they will die. For example, just jumping and clipping them with the jets to reset the fire will result in their death.

    Hmm, perhaps another function missed by the devs like Firerate Sponsor with the Heal Gun?

    Anythings possible. We'll look at the code and verify it. When Scathis says something like that he tends to be right though.

    Well I'm sure our highly arcane methods of starting a two player blitz and deathblossoming each other will be hard to verify! I do believe there is a reduction but either there's a decimal point out of place or it's intentionally supposed to be in the single digits.

    After investigation we found a minor bug that has it do full damage all the time. It has been added to our 'to be fixed' list.

    Out of curiosity, how much was it supposed to scale? Is 50% ammo, 50% damage on the death blossom? Is there a guaranteed portion?

    This is actually going to be a pretty nasty nerf to tanks when you fix this. :cry:

    They're already at a serious disadvantage against Gunner and Assault medium range. They're slow enough to be sniper and air strike/hurt gun fodder... and tank vs tank is just silly. About the only thing tank actually has an advantage over is Assassin, assuming the assassin is dumb enough to try and attack a tank.


    Could you guys at least increase the burn damage or maybe add burn damage to the rail gun? Right now getting set on fire is more of an inconvenience then a threat.

    Make sure you put it at the bottom of the to do list...

    Actually, based on the "Most OP class" poll lets just remove it from that list altogether. No one fears a tank. :cry:

    This won't be TO big of a problem, but it will hurt when you use 98% of your ammo then get gabbled and go to Death Blossom only to tickle the Assassin.

    Son of a Bitch, I should have kept my mouth shut :/ Atleast Give him a buff on his Railgun, some sort of CC...or leave it as is He is fine.

    Agreed, the Tank is fine right now as is. In the Most OP Class thread the tank only has TWO votes. Only the Assault has fewer than him with one.

    If you guys do fix the Death Blossom bug I would suggest buffing him elsewhere. Maybe give him slightly longer range on his fire gun, a burn effect on his rail gun, or just increase the fire guns clip size?

    Of course it depends how much Death Blossoms dmg is reduced based on clip size, but any of these buffs seem like fair trade offs.That or leave things as is imo.
