Sick of Assassin's sitting up high, spamming shurikens at the money ball.

Same goes for every other class's secondary weapons and skills.

And I'm talking about classes taking the moneyball down during normal gameplay time, not overtime.

I don't. If you can't keep the other team out of your base, you shouldn't win. Don't rely on just pushing your bots through by killing their bots. In a shooter you should actually have to outshoot the opponent to win.

Well if thats the case then they should up the shields on the moneyball just a bit.

Although I agree with you, I thought that one of the core mechanics of the game was that you needed bot siege in order to do damage to the Moneyball.

i agree, and why up shields? it takes long enough to take them down with a gunner. if u cant keep an assassin from taking them down with there secondary then yes u shouldn't win. very good point Sauceman

Agreed. Shield shooting needed to be fixed yesterday.

Considering how well balanced the classes are, I'm amazed a game breaker like this made it past QA.

Nope. It's fine like it is. If you don't want the other team to sit in your base, you can up your turrets.

How is it a game breaker? In virtually every shooter the players are relied on to win their own games. For a few days, before people realized you could win without bot support, teams would just kill your bots and rely on their own bots. Now, players can get more aggressive and push the other players. I like that better, because in the end, the more skilled players should win.

There are hiding spots in all four bases where Pros cannot be seen by fully upgraded turrets.

First, Monday Night Combat isn't "virtually every shooter." This is a squad based, third person tower defense game, not team deathmatch.

Second, Crossfire is designed for Pros to escort their bots to the opposing team's Moneyball in order to take down its shields. Circumventing this breaks the game.

I realized this "technique" the first day I played. It was hardly a secret considering the ball drops in stages while shooting it. Ignoring the bots goes against MNC's rules/design and should be considered an exploit.

Like most console shooters, MNC takes very little skill to be good at. What wins games is strong teamwork. If you want to spend a match focusing on Pros instead of territory, either bug Uber for a new game mode, or go back to whatever CoD clone your ilk spawned from.

I don't have a problem with this at all. I agree that if a team cannot stop someone from taking down the money ball shield, they deserve to lose that game. However, if it was unintentional, I think it should be removed. Uber created this game as a sport, and sports have set rules and regulations that drive the game to be played a certain way. If Uber intended for the game to be played a certain way, it should be played that way.

Either way, I don't have a problem dealing with it, and if they leave it be, I'm fine with it.

I am under the impression that it was deliberate, as one of the tip screens says: escort bots to the opponents money ball to break the shields faster. Maybe nt those exct words, but quicker or faster or someting along those lines is used, not just break the shields, but to do it faster.

OK. So for all the people that disagree with the OP, heres a scene that I run into in a lot of games:

Hotshots have both lanes pushed back and in the Icemen's base the whole game. They control most of the map, but the Icemen are putting up a good defense and their moneyball is not being touched. Overtime triggers. 2 Icemen assassins sneak to the Hotshots base, pick up Juice on the way, start pounding on the Moneyball and win. Its not just assassins that do this. Assaults always find ways to fly across certain areas and get in the WINNING TEAMS base during overtime and backdoor the moneyball.

I don't think this is what the OP is talking about. In OT, the shields are automatically down. However, in the normal game phase, you can still damage the ball by shooting it while the shields are up.

Being able to shoot the Moneyball without bots is definitely a bug. I tried it once and PitGirl started saying 'You can't shoot the Moneyball with it's shields up.'. So people still shooting the ball down even when PitGirl says you can't are exploiting a bug.

I stopped playing the game until the first patch is out, my enjoyment was cut in half once I started bumping into speedy assassins and gunner rushers to the moneyball, it's a complete change in how the game should be played and well, i'll be waiting for the game to return to it's original intended routes before I continue my gaming.

People defending the moneyball rushers are either doing it themselves or play in a near full party where they will always work together, not all of us can do that every day and it ruins public matches.

Shooting the moneyball is just lame anyway.

They can argue it all they want. The dev team already stated it's going to be fixed and that's that. No real argument to make.

Yes, it's an exploit. Yes, it should be fixed. Yes, you still suck for letting them do it to you.

Unless you're too busy getting kills to pay attention to your ball, then we have a different problem altogether.

Its NOT a problem killing someone shooting the moneyball, it's just very irritating seeing your shield's life bar flash when you have turrets everywhere and an Assassin is exploiting a game bug.

And from what I've seen, there's 4 stages to bring the moneyball down. And if an Assassin or other class takes down a stage, it doesn't look like the moneyball restores those stages and than it becomes an advantage for that class to eventually chip down the moneyball.

Anyway, it should have been obvious to anyone that this was a bug and this plus the other bugs in the game have almost stopped me from playing this entirely until a patch was out.

The bottom line is that players shooting down the money ball are exploiting a game bug.

By exploiting this game bug they are subverting the core game mechanic (escorting bots to the money ball), and robbing other players of the gameplay promised in the game description.

Expect the devs to give this issue top priority.

Problem solved: Kill them, Taunt them, press xbox button, scroll to offender's gamertag, file complaint, cheating.
