If you have not checked out the music of Ronald Jenkees, you are missing out.
He is an unsigned regular guy working in his home who lays down some amazing jams you would have to be old not to enjoy. Plus he is really just a nice guy in person. I have not met him in person but have exchanged e-mails and phone calls. Trying to get some of his music into our upcoming games.

Not sure if this still stands today but for a while he had the most views on YouTube period.
He does live-recorded performances which are super neat, but the songs themselves are just great listens.

    Watch a jam:

Listen to the full song (he changed a lot after the live jam, so definitely check it out):

If you think he just got lucky with one good jam, you couldnt be more mistaken. I have both of his CDs and he nailed nearly every song (the 4 notable exceptions being his attempts at rap).
Here are a few I recommend:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5_UrgSbF2o Beautiful.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVZpzS7SGjo Love the atmosphere here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9yVp4b2hts One of my favorite songs ever. I love how the melody is simply implied through the background synths

I am really only a fan of They Might Be Giants, but Ronald Jenkees was and is an inspiration for my own music (which pales in comparison), so I thought I would share, and hopefully find other people who really like Ronald Jenkees.

Also, Uber Entertainment may want to contract him for their next game (he has done game music before and is making music for a very famous AAA game which I am unfortunately not allowed to say).

His name in your game = at least 10,000 extra sales (one of which would be mine).

Would you buy a game just because it has his music in it?
I would unless the game is total ****.

out of curiousity. why do you write L. Spiro under your posts?

you know that's what the signature's for, right? :D

A 60 dollar game? No, i wouldn't mind buying an arcade game for his music though.

While I do agree that this music is awesome, buying an entire game just to hear it might be a little too much...

Finally someone just asks in a civilized manner instead of just mocking me over it.

I dont know if I can explain it well enough for you to agree with my logic, but the basic ideas are:

#1: In an effort never to be a lazy person, I capitalize and punctuate all posts correctly. By the same token, I prefer to sign my posts manually.

#2: Although they call it a signature area, just putting my name there (an actual signature) and nothing more just seems strange. I would use that area for a catch phrase instead. I typically use, Our songs remind you of songs youve never heard.

#3: I have a strong pet peeve towards inconsistency (trust me, you should see my code). Basically this is the way I have always done it (for the reasons above) and so it is the way I always will.

I meant if you were somewhat already close to borderline on your decision to buy the game.
For example, I would have bought Brink if it had his music (then later discover the game itself sucks and be overall disappointed with my purchase, but it would still have been a purchase they would not otherwise have gotten).

Those are some nice songs and a sad fate for Nujabes. Only 36. Rest in peace.

Oh yeah! RJ is ******* spectacular! I would post some of my favorites but I think you already have that covered. ;) I mean just his sense of musical direction is fantastic. Yeah I really don't know what to say that hasn't been said already.

Honestly youtube has becomes the greatest platform for "bedroom producers." There are so many great channels out there with fantastic musicians.

Now being a Guitarist myself here is a video of his I REALLY like:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smE-uIljiGo

Um....when it comes to games music is a big part for me. Not only does it enhance emotions it also helps capture moods. Depending on the game I would defiantly buy one if it had RJ's music in it.

Wish I had seen this topic earlier, there's an indie game on the xbl marketplace for $3 that has his music in it called Sequence. It's a weird rpg / DDR hybrid you play with your controller. It's very unique and honestly a good game, it has decent voice acting and everything. I recommend you guys check it out, I really liked it.

So one of my friends used to produce music for Michael Jackson and was a sound technician for his This Is It tour.

I let him listen to Ronald Jankees Throwing Fire.
His reply: Sorry but this track is garbage. He then told me I should not be trying to pursue that type of music/mastering/etc.

    Hahaha.
I guess even Michael Jackson makes mistakes in picking his producers and technicians.

When you meet him again, tell him Deadpool said to ram his sound technician equipment where the sun doesn't bloody shine.

I used to entertain my friends when they came over by playing various piano pieces from classical to game music to originals.

Now they all just want me to play Ronald Jenkees. :(

I'm not much of a fan of keyboard-heavy stuff, but (after listening to most of his songs) Throwing Fire is quite nice.
