I believe adding a little more to the tutorial would be beneficial to the community, as it stands now new players aren't given enough information to survive being thrown to the wolves. Also the addition of an area where one would have the ability to test or try out multiple classes and endorsements would be really nice. If this could be done with more than one person it would be a very useful feature. And I don't mean private matches. I mean an untimed area where adjustments can be made on the fly. These features would be useful because this game doesn't have the same sort of learning curve as other shooters do and to expect new gamers to come in and have a chance isn't really fair. The current system doesn't foster community growth as much as it does elitism.
Remember that those wolves were pups at once, and they too were thrown into the pit without much knowledge. My advice, as far as training yourself to be a better player, is to solo some blitz modes. Having a time limit and actual objectives are key elements to improving your aim, awareness, and response times. I feel that it fosters team cooperation more than anything. I rarely play Crossfire unless my usual buddies are online, because I know that they are all willing to quickly settle on one plan of action to win the game. A team may seem elite because they are smoking you, but it's probably because they are all in the same party and are actually working together. If you don't have any buddies to play with, just add me and you can party with us because we could use another player. But yeah, a well designed training environment (like TF2's Training Mode), could really benefit new players as well as competitive players.
I agree with this. I only wish the training mode had come sooner instead of this June with the Mac update. I suppose they had to break it down real simple for all the Mac Users so they know how to click that one button (I kid, I kid).
Thats exactly my point, those off us that are willing to take a few beatings to learn are few and far between. You have to remember that the majority of gamers are not willing to invest the time to learn and will therefore quickly exit from the community. They will move on and try to find games with lower learing curves. Like call of duty mw2 all they have to do is throw on a noob tube and they can get some kills. Giving them a little help could go along way to increasing the number of semi-perminent players this game has. NO, the game is designed around teamwork as most competitive shooters are. If it fosters anything it is self destruction. Due to learning curve and complete lack of in game information community growth will inevitably suffer. This is the opposite of what this game should be striving for. Games that don't try to improve fizzle out very fast. This game is no exception and will find itself with nothing more than hardcore fans remaining within a month or so. This made even more certain with so many big titles on the horizon. The window for success and growth with this title is limited to say the least. Lastly you have to remember this is a wishlist thread Zuonius, not a thread for you to troll and try to give individuals advice for which they have not asked nor require.
i would love to c a test type area. be nice for me and a couple buddies to perfect endorsement combinations.
While I love this game, the tutorial is pretty terrible. There's no getting around that. I explain as much as I can to people but I worry people are going to get turned off by everything that isn't in the manual, so to speak.
Wow, cool it man. First off, I don't see where you are picking up on any negativity from me. If you want to call me out as a troll, do so in private. Also, you clearly do need the advice because you are essentially whining about how hard the game is.
