I was about to go to bed. I see the banner and a smile that made me tear up spread across my face. No game or promotion campaign has made me tear out of happiness. Bravo.
Here are my observations. Picture 1: What appears to be a player's shoulder-guard in the bottom left corner. A large, reflective, blimp like structure towers above. Bottom right corner appears to have two metal poles holding up the structure. Picture 2: Perhaps another side to this large structure, due to the reflective nature of the metal. On this, we see a reflection of the Icemen logo with two advertisements on top. The colour of the alloy reminds me of a Tank, however. Perhaps Uber has updated the character models to have reflective armour and better looking gear? Picture 3: At first, due to the flames, I suspected this to be tank oriented. Taking a better look at the red sensor eye and tall, rectangular black shape, I know believe this is a Blackjack or some such bot. Perhaps this is found in the new game mode. The object dominating the left side of the photo and the blue bit on the bottom left, I do not know. Picture 4: This one interests me the most. It appears to be a Plasma/biological rifle. In the bottom right, we can see a finger on a trigger attached to the device. We see the spiraling plasma rod and black metal pattern going down along the rifle, but in the bottom left we see the beginning of the butt of the rifle. Considering the shape of the trigger on the finger, I suspect this to be the Sniper's new rifle. Due to being a plasma rifle, I'm guessing a short travel time will be involved when firing this weapon. Additionally, I'd hypothesize that a plasma rifle would be capable of charging a shot for extra damage. This is backed by the green globules I see surrounding the device, reminiscent of Samus Aran's plasma cannon or Global Agenda's Inferno Blaster and i-Minigun. My two cents.
Where is this splash screen? I really hope this is the patch that will lay the smack down on them AAA games.
i think it goes, Assault, Assassin, Tank and sniper, incoming changes to these classes? (buff assassin juice a little? nerf assault money ball, tank? no idea, snipers rifle obviously)
The streaks of fire at the bottom left and the ripple-esque filters match the previous tank jetgun banner. This might be another portion of that picture.
why am i thinking that with the new engine comes new graphics. They have been showing some pretty detailed banners with nice effects since the birthday banner. And for them to say "the rules have changed" means it could be an almost entirely new game. would it also be silly to guess that a new class is entering in? Perhaps alien? --- edit: oh right, that last image is a gun. i can see the finger and trigger now. hmm.. more advanced weapons perhaps?
This pleases my curiosity.....Uber you always know how to deliver content and this is certainly going to be something BIG.
If uber posted a brand new banner that says "the rules will change" just for costumes.... i might cry
My post from another thread: First pic is just a new skin for the gunner and also a demo of the new lighting effects capable with the new engine. 2nd is probably assaults elbow (hence why its skinny) and it is there to demonstrate the new reflection/lighting effects in the new update. 3rd pic demonstrates the new distortion effects probably related to looking through fire (much like how you see blurry into the distance due to heat waves irl). The 4th picture is anyones game but I am insinuating either a new class who specializes in biological weapons (least likely because its not red or blue) or a new "green alien" type skin for all weapons. Trust me, the new banner is showing off some of the new features with the engine update and the last picture could be anything really. The rules have changed refers to Dangerzone only or a brand new tweaking to Crossfire.
