Borderlands 2

Well i played the first game for a HUGE amount of time, was active on the forums, loved it, was a legit player (if your one of those idiots that modded the stupidly retardedly OP weapons, get out) and was wondering who else will be picking this game up when it comes out?

so far the dual wield character has been shown and i can not wait for dual wielding ANYTHING will be amazing hopefully there's another shotgun class though

ME! Loved the s*** outta the first one. From what I read there are new characters (like the dual wielding dwarf XD) and more customisation with skill points. Looks guud.

you get to customize guns a lot more as well it seems (as in you can scavenge parts from others guns and make your own gun)

that would be a bad move in my eyes. not a fan.

There's a poll on Gearbox's forums asking if people would like to see gun crafting/smithing in BL2
Some are hell bent against it stating nothing but it'll ruin looting, despite suggestions on how looting and crafting could be done side-by-side

i think it will be limited, like if you kill someone they drop a part of a gun or something, i think it would be cool to have something like but i also really enjoy just farming and looting over and over so yeah.

What's funny is some people are ok with you changing scopes, but nothing else, to me that falls under "smithing" as you're modifiying the weapon to alter its functionality

I've done some 'gunsmithing' in Borderlands before. My method was to hit up Craw/Armory and grab whatever looked good to me. Once I had more than 1 of a specific weapon(ie, 4 Hellfires, 5 Defilers, etc) I'd crack open the code of each and 1 weapon would get all the good parts from the others the leftovers were deleted from my inventory.

With that, I could start off with like 50 guns and come out with nothing but 5 decent guns(since I delete the leftovers, no cash comes of it)
Despite all the gunsmithing, I have maybe 2 guns that are "perfect 5", the rest are mixed bags of quality

In the end I still have to loot to get the parts

yeah you can loot to get the parts or just use willowtree as many people did and make retarded OP weapons but if they added things like that to the game it would be good, i preferred iron sights all my guns, red dot sight on the assault rifles (the really weird one that was like a (-) with a dot on the - )

I would prefer it to be cosmetic attachments.

Being able to actually craft guns somewhat defeats the point.

How so? If they set it up so you have to have X amount of similar guns to craft/smith the parts together, you're still looting

I'd prefer to just loot guns. Takes some of the fun away if I can craft them.

Apparently there's a Gunzerker class. They really have a knack for naming things...

yes, but if you get a gun with the best barrel, one with the best body, etc etc and you make the perfect gun, then that would probably equate out to 1/20th or less of the farming it would take to find that perfect gun in itself.

are you stupid? YOU STILL GET THE GOD DAMN GUN!!!!!!!!!!! you just have an option of picking it apart for the pieces.....

i don't think your understanding me, you are still looting the gun....you just have an option of taking pieces of it to use with other pieces of other guns, therefore you get what you want, plus more
