    No wonder we don't have 2000+ players...

    I don't understand, why do you really have to scare them away? Why is the community like this? I don't understand you, seriously...

    Why keep trying? It's not like the developers care.

    From what I've seen it's semi-rare for you guys to ease up on the new players
    Usually if it's a bunch of low-level players I'll switch to a class I rarely play. Practice for me, easier for them, tho if my team isn't doing so well I've changed to a diff class and push harder

    The Reddit community servers for TF2 are fairly active and have a decent quality playerbase relative to other pubs, so you might actually get some routine players out of this.

    Assuming, of course, that the last couple pages of "hooray, newbies to make hate the game" were at least somewhat in jest.

    They'll leave anyway. Veteran players will make them rage now or later. I'd at least like to get some fun out of obliterating them for a day while I have the opportunity.

    I've tried going around killing just bots and playing my worst class every time. They still end up loosing or getting killed by accident cause they suck so much.

    I'm not going to suck on purpose in hopes that they stay. I'll help them out if they ask, but more often than not I'm ignored or told to piss off.

    I've been called rude names by so many new players, I don't really care about helping most of them anymore. It's like I'm playing Halo or something.

    The problem with MNC is that there is no "pub play". Most popular shooters have a defined segregation between public games and scrims, but every MNC crossfire game is effectively a scrim due to team sizes.
    Majority of casual gamers don't want to play competitively, and when they get stomped they would rather go play some other game where they can play 10v10+ where the randomness gives them a chance to feel like they're being useful, and not getting destroyed as soon as they walk out of the spawn.

    I still don't quite get why most people are so reluctant to accept help/tips though, and some of the things they say/do really boggle the mind.
    The other day I ran into an assassin (slimbot) who would smokebomb a turret then attack it with shurikens. When I asked why, he said:
    "Smokebomb disables turret and shuriken does most damage against it".
    Tried to explain that katana is far more effective, but he wouldn't listen, and I saw him waste about 3 juices trying to shuriken a single level 2 rockit. Took assassin next round, dropped the ball in under a minute and explained that was only possible because I used the katana - dude still insisted I was wrong and played the next few games with shurikens.
    I'm not sure what I find more depressing - that he was able to play to level 100+ without realising how bad his strategy is (the guy even figured out smokebombs disable turrets, so he must have played around!), or that he ignored all evidence which showed him he was wrong.

    Actually in pure DPS(no reloads, base RoF/mag/etc), the Shurikens should do 10 more DPS than the katana

    Should, but due to the way builds are sword/dagger is better.

    I know, Dagger/Katana have a 4x multiplier
    It isn't nonsense, it's the data from the game
    I agree the katana is better, I'm just sharing what the game says

    Note that I also said pure DPS, in reality not every shuriken is going to hit
    BAL_SWORD_DMG =75
    BAL_SWORD_FIREINT_1 =0.5
    BAL_SWORD_DMGVSFIX =4

    BAL_SHURIKEN_DMG =61
    BAL_SHURIKEN_FIREINT =0.1
    Like I said, pure DPS the Shurikens do 10 points more damage, that's assuming infinite mag and every shot hitting, of which neither is true
    Sword is better if you plan to blind the turret first, shurikens give you range to work on it
    Hell, just taking base reload speed into account will essentially halve the DPS

    Edited the above post a little bit to make it more clear.

    In a build without anything that could increase your damage shurikens to more damage, yes, but as soon as that silver RoF kicks in (and pretty much everybody runs silver RoF) the sword is better, by quite a lot .

    Bottom line: using shurikens to take out an unguarded 3.3 rock-it = laughing ensues

    True, tho if I didn't have Juice built up or the cash to buy Juice, I might just start off with shurikens fill the meter

    Then again if I see a 3.3 Rockit and noone is dealing with it, I'll be more tempted to just switch to Gunner
